100 percent agree. kived eriksson in dallas. his decline would have to be something id hope scouts would investigate though. i dont think he is old enough for him to be falling off a cliff. id definitely have major interest.

lower tier guys like grabner or nielson would be very good, hopefully cost efficient adds too. Grabner can absolutely fly, and nielson is a very underrated player who does nearly everything pretty well.

the guy on there that i think would be the pens version of giordano to the flyers would be andrew ladd. but again, i cant see them letting him go.

I agree on Giordano, over MacDonald for sure. Hamhuis is a guy that seems to be declining. I like him, but not sure I'd sign him long term for big money. Value wise considering age, I might stick with MacDonald in that situation.

Get picks for the 2015 draft. Good, deep draft. I'd rather get picks than marginal talent.

yeah. thats one of those situations in which i say okay, amac should be moved.

if amac is somehow the last obstacle left in being able to acquire/afford giordano, then yes. he should be moved.

but i dont think his level of play has been that out of line with his salary that barring a situation such as that one, he should be moved just for the sake of being moved.

I just don't see Burkie letting Giordano go. They will blow their load to keep him

and yeah. i cant see ladd leaving. he has been a good little soldier. those intangibles and experience make me value him even more. and his on ice play would be perfect. not flashy as you said, but the pens dont need flash. but a winger who can get 25 to 30 goals, while providing responsible two way play, and a good physical element, sign me the (frank) up please

I think there are deals out there that could really help them. What I don't think is that we, as a fanbase, are interested in paying with futures

Hextall likely isn't either, so I realize I'm kind of on my own with this

But I'd move a pick, even a high one, or prospect in a heartbeat if I liked the deal, and when I say "like," I don't mean it has to be a substantial overpayment. If it made the NHL roster better now and for the next 3-5 years, I'd do it and not look back
