Free Akeson = success! - Tomahawk
They're going 60-0-1 the rest of the way now that the Akeson distraction is gone. That guy tried to breathe air in the locker room |

That still wouldn't be good enough for some. |

Luke Schenn out with an injury, while Umberger and Lecavalier playing on one line was dragging diwn this entire team. |

Yeah, Akeson has been the real problem here so lets waive him. I can see another team pick him up and become the next Sharp 2.0 |

Good that they waived Akeson. Hopefully he clears, and can be sent down. Kid needs to be playing Hockey, not sitting. |

To me, it was pretty evident he wasn't going to get a fair shot here for whatever reason.
He worked hard enough to get a crack at the NHL in he first place, and deserves a shot to continue having hockey be his career. If that's in the AHL or another team, I am glad they gave him the shot. Rotting away in the press box was the worst situation regarding development.
Wish him luck, wherever it may be. |

I thought he had a decent training camp but I believe apart of why he made the team was because they would have had to waive him to send him down in October. |

Yeah, I guess. Honestly, while I didn't expect a lot. I did expect that the least they would get a 3rd/4th line tweener who would put up 12-14 goals and 25-32 points for 2 seasons (I always figured they'd buy out the last year). To me, that was a better overall option than 5 years of an aging Hartnell at 4.75 million per.
However, since RJ Umberger has failed in even this most modest task, and instead has played like a total piece of (frank)ing poop each and every game this season, than yeah, it was a bad friggin trade.
However, even with Hartnell instead of the corpse, they are a bubble team at best. I'd rather that they out and out suck than be a bubble team, especially in this draft year. The way they are playing, they may well be looking at picking between 4-7 and that, at least, would be very nice. - BiggE
I'm with you, BiggE. (frank)in 'tweens' are the worst. |

Zepp has actually been fantastic. Every game I've watched, he's made some gigantic stops. - Jsaquella
Watched live, or on TV somehow? Probably with magicsauce. |
