You are all right. Firing Berube isn't going to fix anything because his replacement will be another member of the ole boys club. As long as the Flyers keep hiring ex-players the mentality, the style, and the attitude will not change. Lavi is a good coach and did a great job when he was here. The team makes it within in 2 wins of winning the cup and a few years later he gets fired after Holmgren blows that cup finals team up and gives out ridiculous contracts. But what does the team do? Lavi gets fired and his replacement is someone who is NOT a good head coach and Holmgren gets a promotion. This team is still reeling from all of Holmgrens bad decisions and it will take a few years to fix but as long as ex-players are being hired, it will take even longer to fix. - Daveflyers36
Would you say that arguably the Flyers' best two coaches in their history were not from the "old boys club"? |

the D men on the Phantoms have to be better than these slugs |

What is even better is that we don't bring anyone up from the Phantoms unless there is an injury because "they aren't ready" but Rinaldo still a roster spot. This guy is so useless and does nothing to help the team. I could tolerate his stupid penalties if he would put the puck in the net once in a while but he has what? 1 goal in like the last 200 games? He is NHL ready but noone in Lehigh is? |

I don't know about the D-men, but if they don't have a couple of forwards who can skate faster and win board battles better than some of these guys, then what's the (frank)ing point of all of this
You can't just let the same guys do nothing, game after game

That would be a fair assessment. |

I agree that Rinaldo is just a warm body right now but it's not much better down in the A with Laughton up.
What about Jason Akeson?! |

Exactly -- you've been shut out three times in your last four games
Don't tell me that you need to dress the same guys to do that |

i just think its hard. the guys that are awful, no one will want. the guys that people will want, still appear to be more of the solution than the problem. |

Completely laughable that Rinaldo was signed to an extension. Shows you how comical the mindset of this franchise is. |

I guess I made a good decision not to leave work to watch the game. So I have one question. Have they hit rock bottom? |

Right because that is the problem dragging them down right now..
Couturier, Read, Simmonds, VL, Umby, PEB = useless but lets focus on Rinaldo.
A 4th line player should not be the focus of our frustration. All those guys I listed above are not getting it done in anyway.

I wouldn't be suprised if Hextall does nothing. You see..it's all part of the plan. Keep playing guys like VL , Corpseburger and a soft D core....your almost assured a lottery pick |

Because he is a 4th line player that can hit, skate and plays a physical game which is something this team doesnt do..
hey though..i get it ..cut rinaldo and boom ..The golden child will revert to his form of 3 years ago and Simmonds, Read, others will produce..
Problem solved |

I'll wait and see what they bring tomorrow. It, theoretically, could be worse.
