It doesn't take much to tip the scales in today's NHL
Having 2 black holes that aren't competent nhlers anymore expected to contribute in your top 9 I'd enough to take you from a 100 pt team to a 75-80 pt club. Especially when you can't win a shootout

1 or 2 probably he played in a Czech pro league before before Sarnia took him in the CHL import draft.

We can use some scoring forwards to go with our pass happy bunch. |

Agreed -- I understand when people say "don't focus on Rinaldo," because, in truth, he isn't the biggest problem on the team
But the fact is that when you have multiple players who can't score in your lineup, or defend well, and can't skate/forecheck...
I didn't want to believe this team is bad. I think they have underachieved so far, even with the obvious deadweight on the roster
But the bottom line to me is that you can't shelter players who don't produce. The game is still either scoring goals or preventing them. If you can't do one and aren't stopping the other, then you are able to be replaced, because there has to be someone out there who can do one of those two things at a value that is higher than simple physical play can provide
In a perfect world, Rinaldo would be a poor man's Ian Laperriere. But that's not what he is, and the Flyers need to be looking for that, instead

It's time to rebuild, not re-tool. Seriously, Cam F'N Talbot back to back shut outs. We are nowhere near close to being a contender. Figure out who you want to start over with, and than clean house. |

Yeah -- they have got to find somebody who can score goals, preferably at ES, and that person isn't in the organization right now

Reality of the salary cap... could only keep spending like it was 2004 and push problems down the road for so long. |

It's so frustrating to watch this
I knew Umberger was in decline. I didn't dispute that. Everyone knew he wasn't going to produce at Hartnell's level.
But I still thought he'd get 12-15 goals, 25-30 points. His career just went off the (frank)ing cliff
Him and Read not scoring is absolutely killing this team. Those are the goals that the Flyers were counting on that simply aren't there, and it is killing them

I'm not even mad, I didn't have my expectations too high going into the season. So if it doesn't get better I'll just look at prospects even more. |

Ive read reports that Zacha has questions r/t his foot speed. True?
Rantanen was kind of my guy, but not sure if his ceiling is high enough? |

When I've watched I didn't think it was much of an issue but like many it could probably use some work.
I don't get to see Rantanen but have been interested in him but have interest. |

Go in the Lightning thread
They are celebrating the fact that with Brewer moved out they have one dead weight contract which would be..........wait for it.........................................................Matt Carle's!
Look at what we have to trudge out there on a nightly basis. For all the good trades this team is in cap hell for at least two years. But this team can not afford to send out picks or prospects in any trade. It will take years for this thing to come around, it's just going to require patience on our part.
I think our frustration is more that we want the Flyers to admit this, that this is a rebuilding effort. They are probably afraid of the STH's though I guess since they don't want to watch a rebuild. |

comcast can absorb a few less then sold out games
they reaped what they have sowed here
Ek posted the Ducks were also looking at Flyers defenseman before taking Brewer
that is sad |

One more bad season after this one. That's where I see things starting to change. An exciting FA class, hopefully some of the bad contracts off loaded and some of the drafted youth starting to twinkle its way in. That's my timeline doc. |

This is such a bad team. The Defense is what it is, but my god I didn't think street and amac, and grossman would be this bad. When this team plays physical it generates scoring chances. I don't know why they don't do this on a consistent basis, but whoever is at fault (coaches or players) need to go ASAP. Laughton is the future captain of this team. Why he wasn't up last year is unbelievable, and we sent Ghost back after he looked great, and now he has a torn mcl. Read needs to be traded, bc he will bring a decent return. Both Schenns can go as well |
