I think the only move that might be worth doing is getting rid of Umberger and Vinny's contract, but they will need to add an asset to make that happen.

I don't want to see Read go, but if they could get a 2nd round pick for Read and Umberger that could be a deal worth doing. It would be hard to replace Read, but it would be easier to replace Read than it would be to trade Umberger.

The same with Vinny, though I think Vinny still adds some value to the team.

Creating cap space by trading Umberger, Vinny, and maybe Luke Schenn and adding draft picks for the 2015 draft would bring some success to this season, even it they don't make it to the playoffs.

I wouldn't do that. Bad move to sacrifice Read just to move Umberger. I'd rather keep Umberger.

Maybe, but they probably wanted to see if he would play his way back into a regular spot. In games or in practice.

i think it would be hard to get value at this point because all the pieces that are not named G, jake and mason are underperforming.

The Flyers would have no problem moving Luke Schenn if they wanted to. May not get the return that they would like, but they could move him in my opinion.
