Did you read the article from the Buffalo News? It's absolutely heartbreaking. He does get money from the NFL every year, $50,000. According to the article, he should actually get $100,000 but the league claims that paperwork wasn't filed in time or something like that.

I heard he gave up pension rights to pay employees (buy-out)

He took care of the employees instead of ducking and running, something I will always respect, a stand up person

Here is to hoping he adjusts to the new life-style and enjoying the little things

For me, I don't understand what he would need to prove playing in it. I'd rather have him stay here and play more games with Risto and continue their chemistry together.

There's something to be said for getting to play in big games that have meaning though. Think of it as training for when we eventually get back to the playoffs.

I have not been as down as most with the tank. As we move into the 2nd quarter of the season the idea that we are destined for 30th couldn't be further from reality. You can try to sell me on prospects from hanifin down but if this team doesn't pick top 2 this will be a colossal organizational error. There are other ways to build a winner. I'm not even saying the team won't improve in years but you don't put out this product for two years for reinhart and hanifin. If you want a #1 pick Edmonton has two they'll trade you today. I hate that our franchise has become a joke.

I don't think he is making much of a difference for us here. I'd let him go play though.

He is getting very sheltered shifts and doesn't play ant PK time. Ristolainen on the other hand is already clearly our 2nd best defensemen, he's going to be great

It's not a joke at all. We have the #1 ranked prospect pool in all of hockey, with cap room and 3 1st round draft picks coming up.
