I guess that's the safest option then. Although, it would be best if we could get him a nice contract before the seasons over but as whaley has stated he doesnt like to do that because its distracting to players. Hughes definitely has shown he deserves it. Id like to lock him in buffalo long term.

Hughes would be smart not to resign now.

He'd get crazy money on the open market.

They should be working towards an extension for him right now.
- buffalofan19

He wouldn't sign one IMO. He's on track to get a 75 mil contract

Ill take anything besides the packers, broncos, jets and steelers throwbacks. All of those are absolutely horrible. One of my favorites excluding the bills is actually the patriots throwback as much as i hate the team.

IMO I would keep Stewart and resign him, trade Stafford.

IMO, I think the Oilers will turn it around, I don't see them tanking for the 1st or 2nd pick. to much talent and picks on that team to tank yet again.

I would be more worried about the Yotes or the Panthers to tank IMO, the Yotes want a marquee player to show the people in AZ that it wasn't a mistake to keep them there.

The Panthers are....well... the Panthers.

Ultimately, though, the Sabres have the least amount of talent of any team in this league, and that will be reflected in the standings.

Given this statement, if they don't finish last, You will have to concede that Ted is capable of coaching well.

I think it's pretty obvious about Nolan and how this team has come together as of late.

If it lasts at all, there will be a lot of people who will have to dance away from some firmly expressed positions.

If taking a team that should finish 30th, and accidentally finishes 28th or 29th is a sign of "capability", then sure, I'll concede.

I still hold that this is simply a case of a bad team playing its best hockey of the season, and nothing more. This team is neither talented enough nor deep enough to maintain anywhere near this pace.

Take Myers, Ennis, or Girgensons out of the lineup for any length of time and things will look the way they did early in the season.

I still think the goaltending alone will bring this team back down to last. It won't be a disaster, but it won't be able to carry this team the way it has the past two weeks.

Mostly goaltending. Despite the win streak, they're still getting manhandled, and will continue to get manhandled all season. I don't think goaltending is going to maintain the pace it has the past two weeks, but if it does, it will be the sole reason this team doesn't finish last.

While I think the goaltending has been pretty stellar recently, they weren't playing poorly prior to this. It was the defense that was awful.

I don't think the team can sustain what they've done over the last 6 games for the rest of the season though. The Winnipeg game was a pretty good indication that they could very well slip back into being the team that looks like it has no business being called an NHL team.

Both Montreal games were good indicators too. Montreal should have potted at least six in both games. The scoring chances were that good.

Bang on absolutely correct. Despite facing close to 40 shots most games, and getting no goal support until recently, Enroth And Neuvirth have been on their games

Not on Friday. The Sabres kept everything outside.

Saturday yes, Montreal should have won.

Montreal still had some good chances Friday, too, though not as well defined as Saturday. They seemed to mail it in, though, after the Moulson goal.
