. The Winnipeg game was a pretty good indication that they could very well slip back into being the team that looks like it has no business being called an NHL team.

I think Denver just completed the first ever "onside punt" in NFL history.

I think a big move will be made before x mas that ensures there is no tank

just a hunch

- homiedclown

Maybe, maybe not but people shouldn't get to excited about the 1st or 2nd pick next year IMO.

This home and home against Tampa should be interesting. While Montreal is up at the top of the league, they don't have the same type of offensive stars as Tampa does. We'll have to wait and see how the defense and goaltending holds up against them.

Montreal still had some good chances Friday, too, though not as well defined as Saturday. They seemed to mail it in, though, after the Moulson goal.
- buffalofan19

We outplayed Montreal for a good portion of Friday's game though.

I expected to be massively outplayed on the road of back to backs.

While the goaltending has been especially good, I don't think you can honestly deny that this team looks much better than it did to start.

Two issues that will send us back down to earth eventually.

A. Goaltending like you said
B. We are a one line team

The team has looked better recently. It still hasn't looked good enough to maintain a pace to stay out of the basement, not to me anyway.

I expect to see them win a few and lose a few as the season goes on, not a playoff team but I don't see them tanking. Learning and growing together every game.

for the most part, they are playing like a team

that alone will get you ten extra points in a season, the nolan factor

IMO, I don't see any big changes. I would resign Stewart IMO, he's a better power forward then Foligno. Foligno should have been gone already, he's another boat anchor.

I bet we finish 29 or 28th.

I have always said that us being a stable team will keep us from being last, I can see Colombus or even Philly completely bottoming out this season

I'm more worried about the Yotes or the Panthers or by some crazy chance, the Oilers. I think the Oilers will make changes before any tanking happens.

I see Garth is still writing blogs about D men and the Sabres, I guess he doesn't get it that unless a deal completely knocks Murray out he's not moving Myers.

For me it's Carolina. They're as big a mess as the Sabres.

New Jersey could join in depending what direction they decide to take. Big trade could take them either way.

I find watching kylington and reading about Hanifin makes it a lot easier to deal with. I could see it going either way though.

Everyone on here is more knowledgeable about the draft and the future kids in the league then I am, so i'll take your word for it.

I think the main problem is that the McEichel dream has created a form of blinders for a lot of people (and to be fair, myself a little)

For the Jeremy White's of the world, they see the draft as

1. McDavid
2. Eichel
3. Bust
4. Bust
5. Bust

Which is insane, and quite frankly a little insulting to 3 guys who probably would have been in the conversation for 1st overall in the last 3 or 4 drafts.

I would like nothing more to draft either 1 and the Sabres with the city of Buffalo deserves it but I'm not getting my hopes up.
