Inflated stats. Boychuk is about as good as Coburn. Maybe. Thats not saying much - GOA88
He's the #1 dman on a good team. He's clearly better than Coburn |

Except one is one of the top defensemen on a team that has the most points in the NHL and the other is the top defenseman on a team that is 1 point ahead of the Sabres. - Jsaquella
He actually does what we wished Coburn would do. |

Yeah. He knows what he's talking about though. This isn't Barry Melrose or some poop - PhillySportsGuy
He does. And he's right. Andrew MacDonald has the 28th highest cap hit in the NHL among defensemen. He's been playing poorly and was a healthy scratch against a divisional rival in a big game.
That says more than Ferraro did. |

im not a coburn basher, but i think boychuk is better. he is doing things that people would like coburn to do, without the benefit of that other partner that coburn likely needs |

The Isles dont have a great D-Core. Idk if you noticed.... They are playing like a team. Thats the big difference with them this season. Boychuk is a 3 or 4 defensmen on a team with GOOD defensemen. |

I really wish there were smarter guys working TV who didn't spent half their time repeating the same old tropes/cliches, and the other half kissing ass in preparation for their next round of job interviews. |

Lubomir Visnovsky is a good defenseman. Travis Hamonic is a good defenseman. Nick Leddy is a good defenseman. Johnny Boychuk is a good defenseman. You might not have noticed, but the Isles have a very solid defense corps. |

I don't know what flattering thing anyone can say about the Flyers right now outside of jake G and Mason. I think people here forget what it's like to have a defenseman who can deliver a breakout pass without hammering it up the boards |

Solid? I can go with that. But they dont have any game changers, they dont even have what most would consider a #2 defensemen. |

Yeah. He and Leddy are being put in great positions to succeed but they are being very successful. I like Coburn but he's inconsistent and doesn't have the offensive ability of Boychuk |

Clearly your opinion. They are all #3 or 4 D-men. They are playing like the Flyers D-men should be. I dont see any real difference in talent. |

When I was being pitied at the Red Wings game, Voracek and Simmonds came up a lot as players they'd like to have. None of them were even aware that Voracek was second in points in the league. They just know him very well from his days with the Jackets. |
