Considering Ferraro was in no way, shape or form involved with the ESPN poll, it's immaterial to mention the poll to attack Ferraro's comments.

I was looking for this, thank you. You don't happen to have this list allegedly spurning Mason on hand, do you? |

Girardi is better. I'm saying if he had more offensive opportunities he'd score more. Same with any player. That's why you can't always just look at points to determine a level offensive play. - PhillySportsGuy
yeah. lots of pens fans think that ehrhoff is a disappointment right now.
but his usage is miles away from what i predicted for him. |

i think he has been really good. but he really just does not play the powerplay at all, which is something i think he would rock.
the pens are definitely going to lose one of either him or martin. |

Patrik Stefan was the first overall draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers.
More people may remember him for this play then anything else he did.
That whole 1999 draft just blew.
After the Sedins there was really nothing.
wait I forgot Zetterberg went in the seventh round, damn the list of guys picked ahead of him is astounding |

A #2 Dman is a guy who, in a perfect world, is the support guy on the top pair or anchors the 2nd. More often than not, they are often a teams top guy as many teams lack a true #1.
In their history, the Flyers have really only had 2 true #1 dmen: Mark Howe and for a short time, Chris Pronger. Guys like Desjardins and Timonen were really #2 guys.
You can be very successful, even win a cup without a true #1 guy. However if you lack both a 1 and a 2, as the current Flyers do, you will most likely miss the playoffs. - BiggE
Disagree completely. Both Timonen and Desjardins were absolutely legitimate #1 defenseman in the prime of their Flyers career. |

Boychuk is not even close to being the reason the Isles are where they are. - GOA88
Leads the Islanders in TOI and is +7, 2nd on the team.
He's a a huge part of their success. |

The connection between this ESPN poll and Ferraro's statements seems like kind of a stretch is all. - BulliesPhan87
The point is if were going to accept one media source as the truth, then aren't we going to accept them all? Or just pick and choose according to our own biases and agendas. |

It's like the 1975 draft. Some good players, like Mel Bridgman, Dennis Maruk, Tim Young and Pierre Mondou, but the best pick was a 15th rounder, Dave Taylor, who formed one of the best offensive lines of the late 1970's -early 1980's in LA |

Nope. But his cap hit is just $500K more than MacDonald's ($5.5mm vs $5mm) |

I don't know what flattering thing anyone can say about the Flyers right now outside of jake G and Mason. I think people here forget what it's like to have a defenseman who can deliver a breakout pass without hammering it up the boards - PhillySportsGuy
I think some people forget that there isn't a defenseman alive who can deliver a breakout pass with two forecheckers on top of him, without an outlet available to make a breakout pass to. |

and my point is it's not exactly reasonable to throw the baby out with the bathwater, especially when the baby wasn't in the bathwater in the first place. I'm not really sure what you're getting at here. |

Nope. All journalists are created equal. When Bob MacKenzie says something I don't believe it because he works in the same field as Frank Seravalli. |
