All you need to know is that Ray Ferraro knows next to nothing about the sport of hockey... aside from playing in over 1200 games and working as a scout, and as a hockey analyst and etc. - jak521
Well then if that's the case, do we accept the opinion of Ferraro, or do we accept the opinion of the Flyers brass who made the deal and signed the player? Or is all you need to know is that Paul Holmgren, who was an NHL player, NHL coach, player personel guy, asst GM, NHL GM, and the Flyers pro scouts, know next to nothing about hockey? |

“It’s going to be a competitive camp,” Sanheim added. “There are 10 guys competing for seven spots so it’s going to be a battle. I’m really looking forward to the competition, getting to work and hopefully earning a spot.”
“I want to show the Hockey Canada guys that I belong. Hopefully I can prove that,” Sanheim said.

The forwards (outside of G and V) aren't good enough to generate offense with very little help from the defense at moving thru the neutral zone. This team does not get the puck in deep with speed, or carry it into the zone, nearly often enough. - Feanor
Nor do the forwards cut off the neutral zone and turn pucks over well enough to transition the other way. Not to mention how that puts enormous pressure on the defense to defend rushes and retrieve puck with little time to make a play. Nor do the forwards do a good enough job at getting open and giving the defenseman a target. |

I have a ton of respect for Bob McKenzie (his only failing is that he apparently doesnt actually have a brother named Doug), and he's generally got his finger on the pulse of the league. I guess we just wait and see what happens next.

If we don't trade for youth Ima be pissed. There's no quick fix for this team right now. I'd trade Umberger, Lecavilier and all of our D but Del Zotto for whatever I could scrounge between now and the draft. |

that's a hell of a point you've got there man - BulliesPhan87
Thank you. And to get my point across further. That ESPN media poll that says that Mason isn't in the top 25 goalies in the NHL, is a load of crap!

When Snider speaks to the media in a negative tone, it means something is likely to happen. Glad it too him all of two months to forget that Hextall told him he needed to be patient. |

I can't imagine picking up another ancient mariner unless we're sending one or more out in the deal. Well, I could imagine that but only if our GM was named Waddell, Howson, Gillis, Millbury, or Homegrin.

In reality 2 goals from your bottom three lines over NINE games is astounding.
I don't think anyone is getting on the horn to shop Coots but I'm sure they're all ears for anything that might improve this team's future. |

Meh... what can't I replace cheaper in August that's heading out the door?
Not all of them are going to find homes anyhow. So I'll take what's left and fill in with youth and cheaper plugs than the plugs I traded at the deadline and on draft day.
It may not improve D play significantly right away but at least there's potential for some growth at that point. |
