So would I, but always try for an extra piece. Hall is obviously the best player in the deal, but 2 starters for 1 should at least interest the Oilers. Fact is Flyers probably have to sweeten the deal, not Edmonton. - jstross
they'd want Laughton too at the very least. |

Noah's an actual legit #1 franchise d, tho... not sure the Flyers have that in the system, even with the continued rise of Sanheim. Hard to pass that up. - Tomahawk
I'd take him at 3 unless the team picking #2 is desperate for D and there's a deal that can be worked out |

B. Schenn, Laughton and Coburn for Taylor is too one sided. I'd rather let Edmonton stay at the bottom forever. |

You still have Halloween candy? In December??
You have an iron will - BiggE
No, we way overbought this year
Actually, I sprained my Lis Franc the day after Halloween. Being trapped in the house with a ton of candy and not able to exercise is so not a good thing. |

The connection between what? Not sure why you're looking for a connection. It's about if someone reads an opinion given by a hockey media member that agrees with their opinion, they see it as fact. But if a media source gives an opinion that they don't agree with, on a player they like, they dismiss it. Such as most did with the ESPN poll that rated Mason out of the top 25 among NHL goalies. It was rebuked. Not saying it was wrong to do so, because I thought it was crap.
Then the sarcastic reply came that Ferraro played 1200 NHL games, blah, blah, blah, so he must know what he's talking about. And that's given just because Ferraro's comments supported their opinion. As if playing those games makes his opinion infallible.
My counter to that is the guy who traded for and signed him was an NHL player, an NHL coach, Player Personel director, Asst NHL GM, and GM. So is his opinion on the player infallible also because of his experience level?
Of course we know that neither is infallible. - MJL
For all that typing, I still see zero connection between this poll and Ray Ferraro. Like, I get that everybody only has opinions or whatever, but this is a dreadfully mundane point to make and a really weak rebuttal to what Ferraro said.
It really just seems like you're upset that people agree with a guy who doesn't see things the way you do. |

With where the Flyers are at organizationally and if they get that top 10 pick it has to be a best available strategy I'd think. I know were short on F prospects but its BPA. |

Don't leave out Oliver Kylington who is not far behind Hanifin for top D in the draft. |

I'd be curious to see Simmond's numbers at 5 on 5 compared to the PP.
Seems more of his points, if not all come on the man advantage. - flyer_nutter
yeah i really think that as well. the PP suits his game, as well as minimizes his troubles. he doesnt need to really work on puck movement or neutral zone play. there is more room for him to get to the front of the net, which will always be his bread and butter. and he gets to be out there with players who can get him the puck and create for him, which he cant do well on his own.
his teammates need to do a better job of helping him at even strength. but he also needs to be more assertive and productive on his own at even strength. |

Ray Ferraro is a member of the media, and poll was from members of the media. Both were media sources that offered opinions on players, but there's no connection that you can see.
The intention wasn't to make a rebuttal to what Ferraro said. I actually agreed with some of what he said, but not all. And you couldn't be more wrong that I'm upset that people agree with a guy who doesn't see things the way I do. I don't give a rats ass about that.
The point was simply how some see certain media comments as fact, as long as it agrees with them. While other media comments are dismissed if it doesn't agree with them. So either I'm not making my point clearly, or you're just not getting it.
Lastly I find it ironic that you find my point mundane, but yet you keep replying to keep the discussion ongoing. |

Just watching the TB-NYR game. Anyone of their D will activate at any time in the offensive zone. It's a shame about Coburn. Never seen a player that can skate so well have basically zero instincts in the offensive zone, next to zero ability to crank out an accurate one timer, such a reluctance to skate the puck in the zone and try and create once he's there. Grossman is a better passer and finisher than he is if he can get himself in the offensive zone. It's a shame about Coburn |
