I never got boarded like that. The worst I got was a hard, straight right from a guy who had a good 6" or more on me, with a full beard, when I was 15. We were over in a corner banging around (I lost the battle) and then skating back up the ice, I gave him a butt end in the stomach. He reared back and put me down pretty hard. I had it coming. We got the 2 minutes, but I'd rather it had not happened. I felt pretty bad about it afterwards and apologized next time I was out there with him.

My kid's in Blue. That pic is from a tournament where he said he didn't hit the kid from behind. The player had just two handed him in front of the net before the puck kicked to the boards. That penalty cost us the tournament and I keep it to remind him.

The play he got suspended for last week, the kid caught an edge going into the corner with him. It was ugly but even the kid (who got all kinds of f'ed up and went in an ambulance) said it wasn't my sons fault. No one in the stands knew that of course. The refs gave him a mandatory 1 game.

Its hard to tell honestly. They are all playing poorly. Its a team wide issue. Not just any one individual or just the defensemen.

Last weeks was 5 for Charging, 10 for Boarding plus a game misconduct. The Boarding major carries an auto 1 game but reviewable up to a season depending on the ref report.
