Lecavalier isn't leaving as much money on the table. After next season, most of his deal is paid out. He's also being paid by the Lightning for a while as well.
Umberger would be turning down over $9M over the next 2 years if he retired after this season. |

I don't think his play here is the end all be all. He had a nice start to the season, most notably against the Devils, I just think it would be nice to see him play with actual talent. At this point in his career, I think he can only be as good as the players he plays with. |
