I'm not sure Vinny gives a rats rear end about $.....but what is in question is his commitment to still playing professional hockey. - landros 2

He hasn't given effort for most of the year...why did it take 20+ games to scratch him? - Jsaquella
From reading the article, doesn't sound like Vinny agrees at all that it's a lack of effort. |

Just a quick question.
All the players have come out in defense of their coach and Voracek has called him the best coach he has had.
Is it so easy to just fire Berube considering he seems to have really pulled the best out of Voracek?
I understand people assume that he lost the room, but really we have no clue since we aren't there.
Just bringing it up because I don't think he will get fired. I think until he has the horses to run his system and some crap is cut from the roster either at the TDL or in the offseason I think berube will get another year. - J35Bacher
I don't think he's lost the room at all, I just think his decision making isn't the best. He's a fine coach for this transitional period the Flyers are in, IMO, but when they have a team that can really contend, I want Berube far away from it. |

I think he'd be more concerned with his reputation and legacy. Honestly, the best option for the Flyers would be that he retires. The problem is always a player's ego. I'm sure Vinnie feels like he still has it but is simply being misused. |

It's all very well celebrating Vinny getting benched, he certainly deserves it, but when his replacement is an AHL-player in VdV who's already -7 in very limited minutes, it's unlikely to help the team much. |

If there is one player on this team that has come to play every game, and every shift. It's Rinaldo.
Other then Giroux, Mason, Emery, and Voracek. - MJL
Come on now MJL..we know that constant effort and physical play aren't allowed on this team.. |

Maybe he's hurt or his legs don't work anymore. This is actually a possibility. I mean 15 years of NHL wear-and-tear on those gams. The lack of effort could be him trying to prolong his career or something. Grasping at straws here maybe. |

I hear you. I'm amazed at how much Rinaldo is criticized.

Honestly, I couldn't care less what Lecavalier's opinion is. At best, he's played like poop. At worst, he doesn't give a (frank). Either way, he's deserving of the benching. |

I watch the game, and see some gliding going on out there. I see a player who is already not the fastest player, not moving his feet. Not jumping into holes, and not going to the net.

Yes, he gives effort, though.
Never mind that he's still taking twice as many penalties that he draws, and that he's still prone to running around and blowing coverage, like on the Jesper Fast goal on Saturday afternoon. |

I think the question is who is better. And really looking at the lineup from last game, Lecavalier is out, and Bellemare is in. So Bellermare is the replacement. |

I don't agree with every move Berube makes. I didn't agree with scratching Bellemare. But I do agree that Bellemare's game and skating has dropped way off since the beginning of the season. So I don't think he is undeserving of the scratch. The problem is, that a lot of players fall into that category right now. And I also consider that I'm not around the team full time, I'm not at practice. So I don't have all the info that Berube has obviously. If it was me, my lineup tonight would have Bellemare back in, and Umberger on the 4th line. And Lecavalier scratched. But if that's not the lineup, I'm not going to go off on a diatribe and criticize Berube for not doing what I think is best. - MJL
Well, it seems this is what is happening.

I especially love when he tries to throw a big check, and gets out of position defensively leading to an opposition goal. Like he did Saturday.
Rinaldo's played 22 games has 1 point, has taken 13 minor penalties, and is a -9 playing 4th line minutes. He's been awesome. |

There hasn't been that many bad penalties this season. A physical player like Rinaldo is going to get some penalties. Overall, he's done a good job with discipline.

I just want to know on this team who isn't blowing coverage right now or running around?
The penalties are deadly with how bad the Couturier and Read pairing have been this season on the PK.

For sure, on a scale of 1-10, he's about a 3. I get why people are irked, but he's playing hard in a limited role. Just sucks when that limited role leads to a goal against, via bad coverage or dumb penalty |
