Here's hoping they dress 7D and Colie's the guy coming back in. - Tomahawk
They should just bench Grossmann, the guy whose CF% drops all the way down to 40 when he's forced to play tougher minutes. The guy who is a total anchor on our best offensive dman Streit.
Streit CF% with Grossmann = 43.8
Streit CF% without Grossmann = 57.5 |

He's definitely a problem, but he's just one of dozens this team has. - Tomahawk
Lucky he was locked up. I wouldn't want an impending contract dispute with Rinaldo monopolizing Hextall's time. |

I just want to know on this team who isn't blowing coverage right now or running around?
The penalties are deadly with how bad the Couturier and Read pairing have been this season on the PK. - opeth_pa
Rinaldo isn't the only issue and he's a very minor one. I understand why people get irked about him, though. He doesn't bring enough, IMO, to offset the negatives. But he's small potatoes in the area of what is really plaguing the team. |

First of all, Rinaldo has taken 8 minor penalties on the season.
The PK has been a big issue with this team, this season. Rinaldo is a member of that PK. Rinaldo has played a total of 15:36 of PK time. He has been on the ice for zero PP goals against.

Grossmann/Streit have been brutal the past couple of games... like worst that duo has ever looked. |

Have to be careful there. When Streit isn't playing with Grossmann, who is he playing with? And in what situations and score effects. |

There hasn't been that many bad penalties this season. A physical player like Rinaldo is going to get some penalties. Overall, he's done a good job with discipline. - MJL
ah yes the good old days when the biggest problem was the 4th line winger that plays 6 minutes a night.....hopefully we are back to debating him soon... |

I never knew it was so simple.
1.Bench Rinaldo
2.Win Cup
3.Profit

No doubt, but maybe the guy can make himself serviceable enough for someone to take a chance on him in the event of injury or whatever.
He's never going to go anywhere playing like he is currently. |

Think GM's have seen enough guys like Heatley, Briere, and Gomez get their change of scenery and flop badly... expensive one-way finesse players who can't crack a top-6... they're about as toxic as mortgage-backed securities. |

I see why people are angry with Rino, but as you say, he's far from the biggest issue. If Read Simmer and to a lesser extent coots get going, that would go a long way to helping us. An indication of how bad everyone but the first line has been (and also a compliment to 49's play) is that Laughton has come in and moved right up to the second line. At this point, I can't see Umby or Vinny improving, so I hope that Laughton starts finding his scoring touch. He's definitely had chances and i think he will start to contribute soon. If that happens, then it's permanent scratch from one of 18 or 40. |

I wonder if the Flyers are interested in signing Rusty Fedotenko and or Jiri Dopita. Both would fit in perfectly with Hamburger and Vincent. |

I don't understand Berube's decisions. He makes Bellemare a healthy scratch but Umberger is still in. Bellemare has been way better than Umberger this season. I think R.J is blackmailing the Flyers somehow. I don't know any other way to describe it. - RobFlyers#1
Maybe corpse is playing because if he didn't, the Flyers (Hexy in particular) would look foolish trading Hartnell for a healthy scratch. |

I would be amazed if Umberger is not bought out at the end of the season. A 1.6 million dollar cap hit over two seasons is worth it. Plus you can sign a decent replacement at less than 3 million and still be saving money on the cap. And by decent I mean someone who can contribute more. At this point that would be a league minimum guy.

Well, they need to do something and a benching is a step in the right direction. If this sparks him to do something.....even just be serviceable.....then great. If it comes down to burying him altogether and only unearthing him in the event of injury, then so be it.
It beats the status quo.
Great analogy, btw..... |

You think Hextall has given permission to Vinny's agent to find a deal. Pretty much like
" Vinny, you have a NMC, so you either go find a deal and be willing to waive it or get comfortable with less minutes" |

Depends all on how frustrated Vinny gets, I guess. |

Don't like putting Rinaldo on the Couts/Read line.
Those guys play tough minutes and while I'm not a Rinaldo basher, I don't think that is the best spot for him.
Kudos for benching Lacavalier.
First step to getting him out of here. |
