You almost have to do that if you are a competent GM.

Vinny has to understand that his play alone does not merit a spot on the top PP or on a scoring line.

Vinny has to understand that he hasnt been a really good player since Giroux got a two game emergency call up. That was 7 years ago.

Vinny has to understand that his female doging and whining is literally the opposite of what will get him what he wants. Shut up and produce, you get playing time. Whining and not producing, 4th line minutes.

Nitpicking, but they did briefly lead during the last game.

They could scratch all the dead weight they want, which is being handed out deservedly but that wont make this team any better. Sharks 5 Flyers 1. VDV and Umberger are still playing and Rinaldo is on the 3rd line.....

Rinaldo isn't the only issue and he's a very minor one. I understand why people get irked about him, though. He doesn't bring enough, IMO, to offset the negatives. But he's small potatoes in the area of what is really plaguing the team.

Agreed, to me it is a much bigger problem that Couturier, Read and Simmonds are black holes right now.
It's a much bigger issue that Vl and Umby are useless.
It's a much bigger issue that the D has glaring holes.
It's a much bigger issue that this is team has 1 player that plays a phsyical game though Simmonds and B. Schenn can play that way.

Agreed. What we're seeing here is changes made around the quarter pole of the season. Coaches are going to give veteran players that benefit of the doubt, and that amount of time to get their act together. I would expect Umberger's icetime to be reduced, and possibly even scratched at some point in the near future. But in order for that to happen, there has to be better options available sometimes.

I would guess VLC and Ronald MacDonald.

Couturier gets Rinaldo and a slumping Read as wingers and will be buried in DZone starts against the West's top lines. That should help get him going offensively on this road trip.
