For those of you into tanking (well, continuing to tank) and taking McDavid, why do you believe that would allow us to trade key assets to get a dman and finally compete?

If they haven't made major moves trading the kids before getting McJesus, why would you have any confidence they'll do so after?

- Morris

the Oilers are so damaged. It doesn't matter if they get Mcdavid. This team needs a hell of a lot more than one more young, talented forward.

Apparently after we draft McJesus (lol) every team in the league will just be dying to give us an elite defenceman and goalie.

I can't understand why they sit on their hands? What have we to lose? Certainly not pride.

He demands a trade before playing a game and we get a lindros type deal. Boom.

Agreed. All they can do is change as much as they can as quickly as they can. I think it would benefit them more in the long run to salvage their season (even if it only got them to 20th-25th) then to give up and get another shiny toy.

If they trade Nikitin and gain a little cap flexibility, change up the goalie situation, and start playing players according to current on-ice achievements, I think even that would go a long way.

We here at RFC are sensitive to the issues of animal fights. These animals are in no way mistreated while under our care. Who are we as human beings to deny these animals the rights that we enjoy every day of our lives. Animals eat animals it's a fact of life. Whose to say these animals wouldn't of already been killed in the wild. If anything we are doing them a service potentially extending their lives all the while treating them like the kings they truly are. Each animal has a choice. They can choose to fight or not. Although this doesn't guarantee the competitor will feel the same way.

Even if he didn't demand a trade I'd be inclined to float it.

Think about pitching him to Florida or Arizona. It's quite possibly a chance to reverse the financial woes of their teams forever. Their owners are going to have a lot of time for that, even if the price is large.

I said this same thing and got pooped on. If the hype is real he is a franchise saving player. A lot of teams that are in serious contention for possible relocation would probably take a long look at what a player of this calibre could do to increase their marketability.

Like seriously. Florida isn't going to offer Barkov or Ekblad likely, but I could seriously see them offering

Huberdeau, Gudbranson, 1sts, Campbell if we wanted him, etc. for McDavid + maybe a throw-in. That's nothing to sneeze at. Or would Lu be on the table?

We've talked to death what Yandle + Hanzal would do for this team. Arizona in general has a lot of solid prospects.

Nikitin was a healthy scratch in Columbus, no one would have given him that contract and I doubt anyone would take it unless it was a salary dump like lecavalier

FLA definetly has a lot of pieces that I would love to pry from them. Even Bjugstad would be a solid piece for us moving forward. If we could get 3 players plus a pick or prospect would we not be better off.

Some team at the deadline or draft may be interest in him with 1 year left at 4.5 million.

Teams need to get to the floor and stuff. I'd take literally anyone signed to any one-year contract, or a conditional 7th or whatever. Heck, I'd package him with a pick to get rid of him

Maybe we could do a Nikitin for Bergenheim trade with Florida.

If we absolutely need to get something back for him Nikitin with salary retained has to be worth at least a 3rd/4th[url]
