honestly tank this year, get mcdavid or eichel, go in full spending mode in the summer just the islanders did. Make significant moves, then get ready to compete. This could all easily be a game plan to have one more top notch pick then start competing and trading heavily to make the oilers that much better. The isles clearly did this in the summer with leddy boychuk and halak. This is what the oilers need to do as well after the draft. This year is a write off |

Bulletproof I don't see a potential flaw in any of this. Good job.

Generally its too early in the process for a project to be considered over budget and off the construction schedule, in foundation work the biggest factors are weather (having to heat and hoard concrete pours) and soil stability.
What causes a project issues is structural steel, as they are notoriously delayed in their fabrication time. And if any of the piles or foundations are poured incorrectly, then that throws a huge wrench into the schedule for recoordination.
It will be over budget and delayed eventually, all projects of this magnitude are, that's why all budgets have at least a 5% contingency line item to deal with overages. - DDM-Coga
You sound like a project manager. That's what I do, manage capital construction projects for a BC Health Authority.
Wait until they put in the HVAC system if you want to see cost overages and schedule delays. Tin bashers and plumbers are the worst. They can kill a project like nobody can. |

I just drove past it the other day and it looks like most of the steel beams are already erected. It is actually amazing how fast this whole thing is being put together. And I should of said that as of last report they are even a little ahead of schedule. Now in saying that I know all construction projects will have delays even if it's as simple as building a house. All indications are that they are on top of this thing and seemingly unwilling to let anything stop them. - Frank.Grimes
The exterior of the building is going to be assembled at what appears to be a snails pace. Those metal panels, I believe they are Zinc, have to be all laser measured on site once the building is ready for them, then they go back to their factory to manufacture them, and hope they did it right, or else they will be waiting another 6-10 weeks to do the whole process again.
Its dumb things like this that cause delays to major projects. Oh and usually at least 2 fires from power on HVAC equipment when the system isn't quiet ready to be turned on yet haha |

Im actually an Architect, but I do most of my own PM work for my projects. Its always a poop show when it comes to the Tender process, a few months into the project once Change orders come in, we are cost engineering like crazy. Soul crushing sometimes |

What there is no Corsi or fantasy stat made up about leadership yet that has been quantified into numbers that you could have posted Hendo. - ruttager17
4 of our top 5 minute getters 5v5 on defense are 50% or below in Corsi.
Our goalies are league worst in sv%.
It's not that complicated: we're top-heavy. |

Clearly your GM's trades and signings in the summer didnt work, so i believe tanking and getting mcdavid/eichel, firing the gm and coach, and getting someone who can make this team better through trade can get the team going. |

Have to have the prospects ready as well, Dehaan, Strome, Nelson and Lee are also playing a big part

I understand that, but majority of the guys like hall, mcdavid are arguably the type of players that are ready to go instantly. I really dont understand why they have draisatl up for.... |

its my freaking job man, cant look at a project built or under construction now without noticing these sort of things. You see an assembly or detail and just question to yourself why the hell did they do it that way, etc etc |

All good. I know the feeling when you know the inner workings of something a person almost always takes an interest in things going on around them. What you said was really informative and one of the few times I actually will take away something knowledgeable from this site. |

The maximum price of Rogers Place, including underground parking, is $480-million.
I know one of the other companies that were in the bidding war to run the project and they opted out because of that clause. If it exceeds that dollar figure, it'll be coming out of the builders pocket. Thats the clause they have.
With that said, the builder also got a lot of the other projects in regards to the high-rises being built, so they gained a lot by taking on this project. |

For those of you into tanking (well, continuing to tank) and taking McDavid, why do you believe that would allow us to trade key assets to get a dman and finally compete?
If they haven't made major moves trading the kids before getting McJesus, why would you have any confidence they'll do so after?
