When I was in grade school, my dad surprised me pulling me out of class to go meet Mr. Beliveau at a fan signing at our local mall.

I was wearing my hockey team jacket with my number on the sleeve (#12). He asked me what the significance was of that number so I told him that my Dad's favourite player was Cournoyer. He was amused with this and spoke briefly about playing with him.

The next day Beliveau and I were on the front page of our local newspaper. And as many people have mentioned in the past, the best part of meeting him was the genuine interest he took in me, and how my hockey team was doing.
