I asked my Dad if he had heard about Beliveau, without saying yes or no, his response to me was:

"Le Gros Bill was revered even during his playing days. Even in the twilight of his career, he dictated the pace of the game. When he skated, it was like he was floating above the ice. His long reach was like Mario Lemieux’s, and his play-making prowess was like Wayne Gretzky’s."

You have rabies.

It's called "hydrophobia" and it's the reason he smells the way he does. God you're insensitive sometimes.

I've never been so angry as when they scored 2 goals on one shift.

We had season tickets to the Chevaliers de Longueuil back in 1983-84. I went to a game with my mom to see Laval (Lemieux) play.

Just a few rows in front of us, The Rocket, The Pocket Rocket and Mr Beliveau were sitting right there, they had made the ceremonial faceoff and were back in their seats only a few meters away.

My mom bought me a mini Habs hockey stick after the 1st period and told me to get the 3 legends to sign it. I had never seen any of them play but like every kid in Quebec, I knew who they were. I walked a few rows down shyly asked The Rocket (1st seat by the isle) if they could sign my stick. He smiled and kindly accepted. I walked back to my seat with a mini stick signed by these 3 legends, not knowing how amazing that little piece of memorabilia would become for me later on.

Getting poopfaced and showing the ref your penis is not "making some jokes."

the kids thought they were great even though it was 3-0 before we scored and our d-men stayed nowhere near where they were told to.

I was in no mood to laugh or make fun of anything. Those little (frank)ers are lucky they don't have practice until Sunday.

They're gonna skate until they beg for mercy. I will weed out the weak ones by making them beg their parents to let them quit hockey.

I play with a bunch of 30+ year olds and we still have the same problem. To make things worst, a few of them are overweight.

Nice blog.
He had a great life, a ring for each finger.
Spent 61 years of it in the company of his lovely wife who he described as his soul mate.
I hope they do leave the seat empty, what person would feel comfortable sitting in it?
