If they have the #1 pick I think it NEEDS to be McDavid. I don't want any kind of tricks or nonsense. If Eichel turns out to be better I can live with that, but if they pick Eichel and McDavid turns out to be Sidney V2, I can not stomach something like that again.

Tough call, there some respected scouts that feel Eichel may just end up being the better player. All things equal, I'd still take McDavid, but if we are at #1 and the team at #2 is willing to give up the store to flip spots, I'd probably make the deal.

I will not be upset if the Flyers get into the top 5 this year, they would be a one and done playoff team and I think the team will have a brite future

I dunno... I believe this team is legitimately bad. I also believe the Jackets (bad luck + injuries) and Oilers (bad luck) aren't as terrible as they look right now.

Just by benching Vinny and burying RJ on the 4th, they will get an immediate lift.

If Read/Couts and Simmonds get going they could beat some other bad teams and finish in the 10-12 spot.

That would be about the right level of suck... not enough to turn it positive as a high draft pick, but enough to miss playoffs...

90% of the team isn't playing well. It's ignorant to place blame on two or three players.

M plan moving forward is hoping playoff teams lose dmen and need depth forwards. Then come TDL time I get teams to bid for Coburn, MacDonald, Read, Rinaldo, Gorssmann/Schenn(probably just one) and depending on offers even Del Zotto and Simmonds.

If you get lucky maybe you can find a taker for Vinny or Umberger. If not then after the TDL i waive umberger and use the 900k spaceto take a long look at someone like Leirer or Cousins or Straka.

I think with a couple moves and a little luck landing a top 2 pick this team could start the turnaround next year.

I'll save you some time, lol.

Only trade I would personally accept is Stamkos and a 1st from TB. I wouldn't even trade #1-2 this year for Crosby straight up.

I hear you, but playing Devil's Advocate, instead of having one superstar player in '92 we could have had a comparable superstar plus some pieces that would have perhaps made a more well-rounded team.

I think this team has a lot more talent than the 91/92 teams, so perhaps filling 3 or 4 holes with all-star level talent might be the smarter strategy.
