We're two months into the season. For me it isn't a question of who should sit. It's a question of who shouldn't sit? You might respond with Giroux and Voracek but that's as easy as the Lecavalier and Umberger rants.

Laughton B.Schenn, Couturier, Raffl, Streit, Grossmann and Simmonds to me are the only players who shouldn't sit.

I am assuming that Hextall was brought in because the Flyers want a Cup. So, if we look at the LA Kings we see they have built the nucleus of their team around some very good draft picks. I also think back in their rebuilding days they traded away good players for picks.

Are the Flyer fans on side if Hextall pulls the,plug and goes all in for accumulating top picks and prospects?

not following what you are saying but what I mean is those 3 guys have to at some point get themselves on track. they are good players. I just can't see them being this bad all year. I just can't see the flyers ending up top 5 but believe me, I wouldn't cry over a top 5 pick and would giggle like a school girl for a top 2

I'm not in favor of that. I don't want to see a fire sale for picks and prospect. If a player like Coburn is traded, I want an established young NHL player in return.

Itll be mixed response. A lot of people will understand the importance of doing it, but no one wants to watch their team go through a rebuild period.

I am within reason. when Homer took over he and Snider preached patience and did a good job turning the team around but then as in all years past the pressure to win brought some bad contracts. I personally don't want to see any of 28/93/10/14/12/17 traded. its still a young core of forwards. I would do whatever it took to unload 18 and 40.

What if we get Macdavid and he turns into a generational type talent like Crosby

I think Hextall will make moves for young players and picks but not all at once. Over the next few years though. He may trade Grossmann for picks or Luke Schenn. I don't think he'll trade a better player like Coburn or Brayden Schenn unless the return is too good to pass up.

Ok, here is a really depressing thought. 4 of the bottom 6 teams are all in the Metro. So next year there is a possibly that McDavid and Eichel could BOTH be playing in the metro and neither of them for the Flyers.
