Put the poo back on your head!
It sounds like a lot to us, and it is a lot to him also.
However walking away from 13.5 million because he wasn't having fun anymore?!
That could change in an instant, especially if the Flyers eat half his salary and trade him.
... we'll find out I guess - Aetherial
I can only speak for myself, but travelling around, playing hockey and making $13.5 million sounds like a lot of fun to me. |

flyers suck. who cares. theres a reason they havent won since the 70s. - Jurco_28
Haha...lol @ Thrashers/Jets
Like them or not, but the NHL loves when they get into the playoffs. They generate lots of attention and are 99/100....fun to watch (not this year though). |

A trade for Vinny SURELY can be done, especially if he says this is his last year as was reported. I dont want Yak from Edmonton at all...I'd only want Eberle,Hall,Gazdic or Schultz off of Edmonton. - twpguy
I'm sure Schultz would solve any defensive issues for the Flyers. |

I would bet they asked for Couturier or Schenn and Yakupov was the main, but not only piece going the other way.
The Oilers can't trade Yakupov beause right now his value has plummeted since his draft. The Oilers won't get enough back to make it worth their while. They need to hold on to him and hope he develops. - Aetherial
If Hextall was smart, he'd start faxing offers to Edmonton with Schenn on it.
Then just when it gets down to signature time, change a B. to an L.
Boom - Philly wins that trade.
Anyone here doubt that MacTavish would fall for it? |

Problem with many of the Flyer players is a coach (and staff) that is flailing. As a group they have no set vision/system/plan. Players who aren't Giroux are never 100% sure of their role even from shift to shift. Yes, they are professionals and should show up and play, but when the coach who is supposed to set the tone sets a tone of confusion and indecision it is easy to see how the team around him is floundering.

If it makes you feel any better, when Paul Maurice was coach of the Leafs, the official system he employed was one of confusion and indecision.
They practiced it on off-days.
Don't believe me?
Look at Luke Schenn - the dude has it down! |

Why would he? - Aetherial
Damn good question. Sure he was upset about being a healthy scratch but that doesn't mean he is going to walk away from the game. What it does mean is he is probably now more willing to waive his NTC to go elsewhere

Why wouldn't they trade Vinny and a pick for Yakupov, then Philly immediately trades Yakupov and a Schenn bro for a 2nd or even 3rd pairing dman who can skate a little? Their d is slower than continental drift on skates. The team needs an overhaul and this would help a little. Thanks for yet another stupid contract, Homer and Snider ! |

Daily updates on the Flyers is as annoying as hearing Mike Greenberg prattle on the about the Jets.
Equally irrelevant.

The truth:
"There are some close to Lecavalier that believe that he may retire after next season. So he wants to play out this year - he's getting $6 million. Wants to play another year at $4.5, but maybe he'll leave as much as $6 million - the remainder of that deal - on the table, but he definitely wants out." |
