I don't think Galy would have done much better honestly. Not the right support staff in the Oilers line up for either to succeed the way they should. I don't think any winger would be scoring a poop ton this year with the kind of play the Oilers have been producing. Wouldn't surprise me to see Yak thrive on a different team. But to call him a bust right now is a little premature. But I will give you that he's not looking like he's on the right track anymore.

He, along with pretty much every other Oiler, doesn't look on the right track. that's part of the problem. Oilers are dealing from a position of weakness. Big time. Eberle and Yak don't have much value so they are sort of stuck.

not really, he wasn't a 1st round pick. Taking Zherdev 4th overall that year and seeing the rest of that draft class, how do you not end up with a cornerstone franchise player.

Yak has *some* but if MacT expects full "first overall value" in return at this point, he should start making retirement plans.
