If it were up to me, the entire management team down to the head jock strap folder would be sent packing. On pretty much any other team this would be the case. In Edmonton though, Katz still faps to his heroes hockey cards so nope.

Draisaitl and Nurse were the wrong picks?

I don't think it's necessarily the drafting so much as it is the development of our young players. They come into the league too soon and often times I find we force players into roles they aren't suited for.

I had a quick look at each of those articles you posted and all I saw was one sentence that mentioned oilers and calgary might have had a better offer but no specifics.

I hear this a lot. GMs trade a player and them some other GM that missed out says "I would have offered them more". BS.

i know the poor drafting record has been talked about but, thats y they are in the situation they are in. for example how can other teams go out and find a goalie. like a Mrazek,Gibson, Allen. beyond the 1st round. its the guys making the decisions that have failed the fans and u guys deserve better.

This is an Oilers thread. We don't get to watch a lot of real hockey.

So what would of landed us Schneider? We just had to top NJ's offer right? So our first rounder was at 7 so that would beat NJ's offer no?

MacT has been here for 2 drafts and that is far too early to say that he has a bad drafting record.

whether you realize it or not, you needle the same points again and again. I know you're just talking hockey. Of course I prefer hockey talk to gifs. But when other people just talk hockey back to you, you are too stubborn to even cede that their could be another perspective, let alone consider it.

Our drafting was bad for the last while but I'd say our prospect pool is a lot better now than it has been in a long time. Everyone keeps talking like if we nail these next drafts and get players in the later rounds our team is fixed. It's going to take a lot more than some 18 year old kids coming in to fix what we've got going on here.
