Was talking with a few people from work about the draft. Could be right or wrong but they were saying McDavid and Echiel or however you spell it wont come to the draft if they go to Edmonton. Could be bs but that would be even sadder...

CBJ, BUF, CAR, PHI are going to be there (especially the first 3). But unless something big changes, I don't see EDM outside the top 5.

Either way, MacT had the parts to make it work. He didn't get it done. Schneider is a quality goalie and MacT could have solidified that position. Now it's still a hole to fill.

Fair enough. All I'd say is that the gap between our goalies and Schneider is miniscule compared to the gap between our defenseman and a top pairing guy.

So what I'd say MacT didn't get done though he has/had the parts to make this work too, is to land a top defender.

Just because we had the pieces we should of just ponied up whatever gillis wanted. Like you said all our young players were still full of potential I'm glad MacT didn't pull the trigger after seeing all it took NJ to get the deal done.
