The reason why I am upset is because just 2 years ago we were all saying how this team needed to stop just being average. Just missing the playoffs.

The team planned to do that. They did it successfully last year and drafted what is projected to be a very good player.

This year when 2 of the best prospects to come out since Crosby are there for the taking, the Sabres are heading towards a 9-10 place finish thus spinning it wheels and going back to the Not good enough to compete with the best and not bad enough to get better.

The Moulson goal was luck, Tampa hit a post with 30 seconds left last game. The bounces are going to go the other way soon.

Luck or chance. Idk but if it werent for either some teams wouldnt be where they are sitting at the top. Posts, luck and chance are especially a part of the game of hockey and constantly mentioning them during a 6 of 7 win streak is serious nit-picking. The good teams get good bounces, the bad teams get bad ones. You balance it with skill and to me it looks like the sabres have just a bit more of both of those things than we thought.

I fully believe doing that would make this team better short term. They've been winning without 1 in the lineup, another who is essentially dead weight, and another who probably wouldn't be missed if moved(stewart).

look at how bad the d was then

look at how bad the pp was then

look at the quality of shots on the sabres goalie then

look at how myers was playing then

look at the little things like playing sam 17 minutes and burying flynn


the sabres were getting outshot 3-1 in some of those games

part of it was how bad the team was playing then, part was the quality of their opponent

I understand your point I really do but, Nolan won't let them tank. They are playing as a team that won't as of now make the playoffs, I agree we need that 1 st or 2nd pick next year but other teams are screwing that plan up for us as of now. Long season left you never know what will happen.

I for one don't want to sit around and watch McDavid and Eichel take teams to a new level for 15+ years while the Sabres get stuck with an ok-good player all because they won a few meaningless games and finished a few spots higher then last.

I agree with that, long season. I just really hope we can land one of those guys. That is all we have heard about, and to me it would be disappointing to walk away with niehter.

Where is the outrage over EDM, CAR, PHI Tanking? Where are all the people writing stories (Puck daddy) about how those teams are making a joke out of the NHL like the Sabres were.

Besides 28 and 26............... 55, 51 and 44 are playing very well as of now. 57 is coming around as is 80 and 24.
