Just re watched it. You're right he had committed so there was no stopping, but I hardly see him even trying to ease up. And the puck was well past girgensons when Hedman committed.

For a guy who just came back from a hand injury, i don't understand why hedman would make the kind of play that would get the attention of other sabres. And only like 90 seconds after the last scrum where he turned down the fight with deslauriers.

I blame him for starting this. Weber didnt do anything to warrant a two handed stick slash. Weber just gave him plenty of room to redirect a puck directly in front of enroth. Then weber gave him a pretty good shove after. The stick swinging was escalating.

Not really, he had brian boyle of all people in a headlock and even weirder boyle decided not to go with him.

I hope other teams don't start targeting Girgensons trying to knock him out of the lineup. Because that hit certainly looked like that's what they were trying to do, though I don't really know why since they were up by a large margin.

That's what pissed me off about the hit. I rarely encourage it but Im happy Zadorov went after Hedman.


Like i said before, Hedman's coming off a hand injury, he turns down the fight with Deslauriers (which is reasonable) but then 90 seconds later goes for girgensons knees up 4-0 in the third period.

It's one think to decline a fight, it's another to do something that would start one then pretend like you're the victim in all this.

I love the way he plays. There's just never any quit in his game. It wouldn't matter if the score was 10-0. He'd still be out there trying to make something happen when the rest of the guys have mailed it in.
