Myers has talent, speed, size and skill my biggest problem with him is, I would like to see him be more physical and fight when needed. If he does that IMO, he's a"complete" D man. Players like him are hard to find and the rebuild should happen with him.
That's what makes me mad the most about him, when I talk negative about him it's because i'm pissed that he is right there but still can't get over the hump.

I watched during one of the scrums tonight in the 3rd period, Myers was in the middle and lifted up by a player from Tampa that was smaller then him ( most are). Myers should have pounded him but he didn't. He's right there...so close...... to being "complete" IMO. I hope he gets there as a Sabre and not with another team.

Irish, I respect you, but you're so tilted in one way over him that it's become pointless to talk with you about him. He hits guys plenty, BTW. He also seems to get called for penalties very often when he does.

I didn't say fight everything that moves but when he needs to, he should. Yes he should hit people, with his size and skill should be an automatic.

You made my point 89. That's just not who he is as a player. You can't make an orange a grape. Weber likes to hit guys. So does Strachan. They both stink otherwise. I'd rather the player be good then a big hitter.

I think it's a lot about what you said, how he and others that have dealt with losing for a long time have had it wear on them. I have little doubt that when the team is finally good, he'll be laying out hits...as long as it's not a penalty every time because he's tall, which Chara seems to get away with constantly.

Common ground there Irish. We've all grown frustrated over these last few years watching the garbage on the ice that we've had to for every game.

I think there'll be enough leaders when they are god that all he'll have to do is play well to make a difference.

If the Hawks are cashed strapped next year, the Sabres have what it takes to get Seabrook. That would be a nice addition to 57, 55, 51, 4 and 6...I think.

If they were calling all penalties like they should be and the impeding/obstruction was gone, IMO Chara would be unmasked and Myers would like Jesus on skates with his skating ability. Put speed back into the game and freedom for players to skate without being held up and you'd see a serious difference between the two of them.

I already see a difference in both players, Chara IMO even though he's a cheap ass is a complete D man. Myers can be better then Chara because he's not a cheap or dirty player.

I just hope they're fun to watch and good again before I'm in an old folks home! The two years after the lockout were so much fun and yet they seem to have become a long distant memory which is sad.

No you are just lost . Your hate for Myers and what he is not blinds you to what he is .

How much did Lidstrum fight ? Or Bourque or Coffey even Orr . All very good defense men . None of them were physical either . They played smart !You fail to see that and seem to think Myers must fight to meet your code of what makes a good player .

I guess I am not going to like watching this game in a few minutes
