The point I'm making is that a Stanley cup isn't won with one player. Obvious isn't it? I think this whole McEichel stuff is making people believe that we HAVE to land 1 of the 2 in order to see a cup out of out rebuild... That's just not true.

Our pipeline is booming right now. Most of our first 2 round picks in the last 2 drafts are leading their team in some capacity... And even later round picks doing work (Baptiste and Fasching).

We don't know if well have a top 10 player, but I think we have several that will come close. And that's all you need. 4 or 5 players that collectively can put up more than the best player can with his supporting cast tagging along.

I feel obligated to mention I have high hopes for Hanifin and Kylington but I see your point.

I hope you're right

If we got McEichel Reinhart would be a winger. Girgensons will be one of the two Top 6 C on this team into the future...

Grigorenko??
I have him slotted at 2 and girgs at three

The picks we have this year will just build the team better. All these prospects need to mature. At the rate some want (get more picks) they will be my age before they see a winning team.

Hall has intangibles as well. He's a total package
- sbroads24

I dare say Hall isn't even the best of his draft class. Seguin is killing it in Dallas.

I don't think anyone wants more picks, I think a lot of us just want a specific one.

But not at the sacrifice of possible 4 real good prospects to get 1 maybe. Thats what i'm worried about . Rather have a whole TEAM of real good players than just 1 great and the rest 2-3 liners.

If we get 3 I select hanifin and don't thin twice...!

I don't want to live on hope. The most successful teams (Boston, Chicago, la) are all built on being well rounded. I don't think it's wrong to say were halfway there with the defense in place. Still happy oilers went nurse over Risto. And Zadarov has really shaped his game playin with Risto. I've grown on him over the last several games...

Again, no hope is lost by missing out on McEichel. Too much talent in our pipeline. We just gotta let them develop...

Right now probably, but Hall had a better start statistically.

Hall is in the same situation as a lot of Sabres... In the abyss of the hockey world

Myers/McCabe
Risto/Zadorov
Pysyk/Gorges

Yea same here, I was really down on him from day 1 (mostly bitterness but still) but I'm happy to see how far he's come in a relatively short amount of time.

Hope not. I like the way the team is coming together. Will take a season or 2 to get them all playing together. Most are still learning that we have on the team now. I have kids older then them

Still a wildcard for me. I believe in him. I think he'll take longer. Thanks to Darcy we don't have much time left to find out... But it's a no brainer to me that Girgensons sees top 6 minutes as a C... Our team doesn't have to roll traditional type lines. Whether it's McEichel-Girgensons or Reinhart-Girgensons as your top two Cs, that leaves Grigorenko to c a 3rd offensive line that sees favorable matchups.... Much like Roy Vanek Pommer in 05-06.

He also has Jaime Benn next to him.

I think both are great players to be honest. I might even agree and take Seguin given the choice

Jamie Benn was a 5th round pick. Hall plays on a team with 2 other 1st overall picks.

I'd take either of them if I could get one without having to give up any of Girgs, Risto, Zadorov or Reinhart right now.

I would only consider trading Zadorov at this point. I think he's going to be good, but not anywhere near great

Could have 1a,1b,1c line

1st line is the one that gets the most minutes. Could rotate depending on the team that night.

Ok so if you know he's not gonna be great ( how you know this I have no idea) what do you think gm's around the league think of him?

Considering over half of them in the league passed on him during draft day id say probably the same

How many teams have won a cup the last ten years w/o a number one overall on their team?
A few kings teams
A duck team
Bruins
Canes?
Red wings

Just a thought

I'd rather have over achievers like girgens then some of the lazy first rd picks

Passing on him as a high first rounder doesn't equate to thinking he's never going to be great, especially with another year of development and real NHL time To consIder
