"The game wear on this size 54 sweater consists of stick and slash marks, board burns, un-repaired burn holes, a fight strap that has lost the battle to salt and rust and fine inner pilling. On the back player number is a faded autograph in White’s own hand. A nice example from White’s final NHL season."
Obviously, this has been fantastically preserved |

I think he could realistically fetch a 1st rounder and possibly a reclamation prospect from a playoff contender. Kinda like what Montreal gave up for Gomez. - jmatchett383
yeah. i mean to me thats not exactly a throwaway, thank you for taking this garbage kind of return. if youre determined to get rid of coburn, thats not a bad haul.
but again, i dont think that route should be taken, unless its part of a total just (frank) everything burn it down kind of deal. which i dont think is necessary. |

It's disturbing to think that the Flyers have as many wins as the 76ers in each of their last 11 games.
What's more disturbing is that the Sixers have more wins in the last 6. |

I don't think it's necessary. But if you get a good enough offer, I don't think anyone on the defense should be deemed untouchable. |

The Flyers have only one win in their last 11 games? JFC.... This franchise has become a laughing stock. |

i agree. that offer should apply to most anyone, on any team though.
okay. so a team offers you a first that finishes say between 19 and 24, and a B prospect for coburn. right now.
do you deem that a good enough offer, and pull the trigger? |

Andrej Meszaros got a 3rd rd pick for Boston just last year. Robyn Regehr got 2 2nds from LA the year before. Even good franchises overpay at the deadline, not just Paul Holmgren. - psuhockey
Coburn could definitely get a 1st rounder from a playoff team. |

I'd prefer an A prospect. But ultimately my goal would be to get into position to get a top two pick in the 2015 draft, so I'd take that deal. |

I would consider it although I am of the rebuilding mindset and don't care about making the playoffs. |

I'd rather move him to a bubble team. Better chance of a higher pick. |

Just watched the rest of the game, gotta fault Mason some on the 1st goal, he was too deep in the net IMO. Other than that, I thought he was fine.
The late in goal in the 2nd was troubling. Much like the late goal in the San Jose game, they are exactly the type of goals that bad teams who lack confidence give up. |

No matter who he goes to, if he goes at all, one thing is for certain.
Within 2 weeks, people on here will be saying things to the tune of, "I wish he'd played like that when he was here..." |

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if they move Coburn during this season, he nets a first. |

It's tempting, but I wouldn't do it. Without Coburn this defense is an even bigger mess. If his deal was expiring at the end of this year then I definitely would. Idk if I could sit through another year like this. Trading Coburn would almost guarantee a lottery pick next year as well.
Personally, I still believe this is a playoff team with a coach with at least half a brain.
If we somehow land McDavid and Babcock/Tippett, I'll jizz my pants. |

Just watched the replays from last one, and I must say: How has RJ Umberger not scored more goals this year? That may be the fanciest exhibition of playmaking and shooting I've ever witnessed. He obviously has the hands of Datsyuk and the sniping ability of Mike Bossy, both on full display on that goal. I think we're gonna see the floodgates open. |

Considering if he does get traded it will be to a better team and he will be a supporting dman vs. the go to guy, he'd probably play better and you'd be right |

Andrew MacDonald got a 2nd and a 3rd. Douglass Murray got 2 2nd rd picks. I don't consider either good defensemen. Coburn is at least a number 4 defensemen unlike those stiffs so thus the higher return. Teams alway overpay at the deadline.
The Flyers also gave a 2nd and 4th for the animated corpse of Pavel Kubina plus a 2nd and 3rd for Grossmann. - psuhockey
So Coburn isn't a good defenseman, it's just that he's better then those stiffs? So some team will give up high value for him, because he's a better stiff? |

Yes, because more likely than not, the team that acquires him has someone to slot with him.
Coburn's Robin, a very good one when he is on. There are some contending teams out there who, should they sustain even one injury, will be calling the Flyers. Because his contract is awesome and he skates extremely well. |
