what team will want vl even after he says he is retiring after the year? that makes it worse, no commitment!

he might as well retire now, I doubt he leaves the press box.

If he retires, a team gets a short term power play specialist who might be able to pot a few goals, then free cap space.

If he only had this year left on his deal, I think he'd be easy to deal. Might not get much, but he'd be gone

I think it's a false hope. Doubt there will be much of a market for him until he shows that he can play.

Somewhat, more concerned that the whole team besides Giroux and Voracek can't execute basic plays on a routine basis

We are stuck with the guy for another two years. I can live with that. If he's true to his word and retires then it will be the same summer we have to resign jake, coots, and b schenn and the the d slugs come off if their still around

A two year scratch we can deal with

I prematurely flew off the handle in the beginning of the season and have no emotion on this current losing streak, I see a lot of guys are now flipping...I pre-numbed myself to the current state of the team, I know you felt they were a bubble playoff team, im like starting to feel like either fire boobie or blow it up, the little we have to offer.

I'm not buying that. Our young players are competent NHL players. Read is the only one someone could argue has regressed and he's not all that young

Supplement these young guys with other competent nhlers we don't have and their just fine.

That's part of it, but even guys like Read haven't performed at all well

I think it's just bs to paint basically berube with that brush. I may not agree with personnel decisions, but 90% of the blame rests with upper management and how contracts have been handed out.

"we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" Paul Holmgren on the cap

Well guess what Paul you (frank)ing burnt the bridge and left everyone else behind

I expected them to be a non-playoff team so I'm not really getting mad this year. Sure, it's frustrating, but I'm a realist and know it's going to take a few years to get out of the hole they're in. I watch and root as always, but being grounded in reality helps the blood pressure.
