I'm ok with moving Coburn but only if they can at least get a late 1st - BiggE
I have a feeling we'll see a lot of 2016 top-90 picks getting dealt this TDL, with teams naturally wanting to keep their 2015's. |

He may be a 2-3 guy playing a #1 on the ice, but, realistically, he's the only one they have. I'm not in a great rush to be rid of him.

I don't want to trade them all. I know you need some guys to return. I think:
Coburn- Could bring decent package and maybe more if you package in Read or someone
MacDonald- I would prefer to move that deal and use money elsewhere
Grossmann/Schenn- I think one could be moved.
Del Zotto- Would move for right price but fine bring back.
Streit - Will be back
Schultz- could come back again as the number 7. - J35Bacher
So you'd be cool with moving 3-4 of them? You want to redo 1/2 of our back end this season? Sorry, I'm gonna disagree, unless you get no-brainer offers. Maybe 1 or 2, but no more. |

It would depend on the return for some of these guys. I wouldn't trade them just to dump them, although I would love to move Macdonald, I don't want to be tied to that length of a deal. If they can't sign Del Zotto and Schultz for cap friendly numbers next year before the trade deadline, I would move both of them for the best deal that I can get. |

19 and already getting basically called out by your head coach. Don't know how i feel about that. - Yosimar89
I hate the tough love approach this organization takes with every player. He's 19 and inconsistent. So is every 19 year old. It's like these coaches want to make coming to work miserable for every player. |

I've been meaning to write this for sometime.
With regard to shoot-outs, Mason is consistently between 1 to 2 feet further back in the net than where he should be. While Perry went 5-hole, he could have shot toward any corner and hit it as Mason was too far back in the net. Again, this has been the case from as far back as I can remember. I'd have to look at the replays a bit more to see if he is not coming out far enough initially or if he starts to back in too early and/or quickly. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of the goals he gives up have been from shots, not dekes. Part of this is Reese's fault, as he should be noticing this and working with Mason to fix this. But, I'm not holding my breath as I never got the impression he ever worked successfully to fix blatant weaknesses with Bob or Biron.
Do they work on the shoot-out in practice? If so, I can see a self-perpetuating pattern. The forwards score consistently, thinking they have fixed their problem, but, then, face goaltenders that challenge them and they find they have nothing to shoot at. Conversely, Mason continues to feel like he sucks at shoot-outs. I get the sense that the team and Mason both go into a shoot-out thinking they will lose. |

"I'll take that contract, but you aren't getting a pick in this draft for it."
Yeah, I can see that happening.

If the team is clearly out of the playoff picture pretty early on I am fine with moving two or three current d-men for picks in the upcoming draft and promoting Manning and Alt if need be.
Ideally, Hextall is able to move two d-men and Lecavelier at the deadline for picks/cheaper players. Not sure how likely that is though. |

For me, it depends on the return. And who could be had as a FA in the off season. |

I would agree with those two as well but I just see Grossmann being moved at the deadline. Maybe get them a 2nd or 3rd |

Why not Vinny. He is already out on the west coast. It would be a perfect spot for retirement next year |

So you'd prefer they didn't try to push these guys to being the best they can be and maybe winning a Stanley Cup? They want to be professionals, right?

Judging by their play, yes. I'm just waiting for the math to confirm it. Shouldn't take long. |

Like I mentioned before, the quality FAs will be looking for years in their deals. If the kids in the system aren't nearly ready, that's fine; if they're closer, you're just making them wait in the wings longer.
Hexy will prove his worth in the evaluation field (and negotiations) this summer, I hope.
