he's what, 19 or 20 in his first full season in north america in the minors. i get the coaches job is to push, challenge and foster development - but it doesn't need to be in the media, especially at this stage. patience much? jfc. - hammarby31
I hated playing for the drill sergeant coaches. They always seemed to be dumbest ones too. They'd hide their lack of knowledge about the sport by yelling at you and making sure you never questioned their authority. |

Well, we might as well find out how tough he is now, right!?!?! Every 19 year old should be ridiculed to separate the weak from the strong. Survival of the fittest. Thats the Flyer way.
Hey Ghost, you piece of poop, why don't you play better defense or you'll be scooping up stale popcorn off of the Regal floors you bumhole! - PhillySportsGuy
Doing it to a veteran that is slumping I could understand. To do it to a younger player, where the confidence is thin to begin with, not a huge fan. Personally I would rather just all that kind of stuff be kept internal.
The club has a stench of arrogance to it in recent years. Just me. |

I don't think it's ever good to go public with poop like that. Gives the players no reason to trust the coaches. |

I agree with you that " a lot of change can happen in the off season"as it should.
This is not a playoff team IMO and I feel guilty for wanting them to be a bottom feeder this year, but I really do believe it is best for them in the long run.
If Hextall can make SMART moves via trade/FA. ( no Zombie deals).. And we get a top 5 pick ( hopefully 1-2) they could be easily in a solid playoff hunt next year.
This is the year to go into " Tankmode" - 3flyerkids
I do not like the term "tank". But I do not like watching this team either. It seems to be the same thing over and over again. I would rather watch young players struggle than watch veterans make the same mistakes over and over again. I find it hard to enjoy anything about this team right now. Even when they play well you know it is only temporary.
If trading a few players brings some talent back I am all for it. I will consider it a victory if they are able to get rid of one of Umbergers or VLC's contracts this offseason. |

I think Columbus will slowly creep up in the standings. I see Edmonton at the very bottom, followed by Carolina, Buffalo, Flyers - Streit2ThePoint
I could see them picking top 5 for sure. |

He wasn't ridiculed. The coach gave an honest assessment of the player, and what he feels is missing in his game, . And he challenged Haag as Bill stated. |

I see a lot of players on this team that can play a hell of a lot better. I see corrrectable errors made, such as all 3 forwards deep, and a defenseman decides to pinch leading to goal against. I see a forward making a bad decision, not getting the puck in deep leading to a turnover and goal scored with 11 seconds left to lose a game. All preventable and correctable. Other then the obvious personel changes that need to be made, there is plenty of room for improvement currently in this team. Without a single player move. - MJL
So instead of being the 5th worst team in the league they would be the 10th. That's if they played perfectly. Bad players make bad plays. You can't correct stupid or the inability to connect a pass out of their own zone. That's talent.
Everyone blamed Laviolette's system as being too offensive for this group. Now its Berube's more defensive system and they are still making bad plays. That's two coaches with two different systems unable to correct these correctable mistakes you speak of. |

Don't you get it...every player in this organization is subjected to be criticized by coaches and management... Unless your name is RJ Umberglar. You can be - 4 with 1 goal in your last 17 and still be a star in coaches eye |

I am not sure the Flyers will finish below any of these teams. Maybe one.
The NHL will ensure Buffalo is in the top two, it has the chance of being a very lucrative market if the team improves.
I wont believe for a second that the draft isn't influenced by the league until they make the actual selection process public. Not just opening up some cards willy wonka style. - flyer_nutter
Hey Eddie, so we need Crosby to save Pitts. wait your turn. Hey Eddie, we really think its in the best interest to have Chicago get Kane. wait your turn please.

This team is very disapointing right now. Lot of players coming up short. I won't put that on Berube. - MJL
Well, it's either the coach isn't getting anything out the players or the GMs (frank)ed this thing up because the Flyers are one of the worst teams in hockey right now. I'll let you take the pick.

Assuming it doesn't work.. What is Murray's next move?
Berube would have him sitting in the press box, and as comical as that sounds, know its a distinct possibility because the kid doesn't play the game "Morin" style. |

Disagree again. The mistakes this team is making can absolutely be corrected. This has zero to do with berube's system. Even good players make bad plays. This team is in a mental funk right now. It's why you see Coburn out of control and taking out Mason because he's overplaying and trying to do too much. This team is certainly limited by the holes in the roster, and it's talent level. But there is no question that they can play much better as a team then they have been. |

Seth Jones proves that the lottery isn't rigged. The NHL had a tremendous opportunity to market the first African American star with a compelling back story that every network and main stream sports site would eat up and let him land in Nashville. |
