Not a fan of Eberle myself. Dont think hes the type of winger we need. Then again I put a heavy premium on two way play. Ideally, for me, its a big body skill winger like Hossa. Dont sleep on Hossa defensive game.
No, Im not saying I want Hossa, we just need a winger like him. - theblueandgold
Me neither. He's good. But far from great IMO |

IMO, What we need is that trade for a younger version of Patrick Sharpe. |

I'm retiring to AMI in 18 or 20 years. Gotta get Two chillies through college and replenish the coffers. The 17 year old is looking at a college with a $56k tuition bill annually.
But AMI is heaven. - Der Kaiser
Just an IMO but going to a Community College to get the basics out of the way is a hell of a lot cheaper and smarter. He/she is making a huge mistake getting into that much debt at that age. |

(beats dead horse) Ryan O'Reilly. Although he is definitely way ahead of what Sharp was at 23 |

I would agree and still think they manage to get him. |

I'd rather try and pry a St. Louis forward away from them
They have Tarasenko, Allen, and a couple others to resign.
Make a strong pitch for Oshie |

Oshie is an injury risk IMO.
70 of 91 games he's missed is do to foot and ankle injuries. |

So there was a video of Jonathan Bernier (Laughs goalie) that was absolutely hilarious, was posted to youtube but has since been deleted. Damn. He was at a Nelson Mandela event and when interviewed called Mandela one of the greatest athletes hes ever watched growing up and an inspiration to all athletes...

He'll be 28 on the 23rd.
Makes as much as Stewart.
Has one 20 goal season.
He doesn't fit the bill for the type of player I'd be looking for but that's just me. ROR doesn't exactly fit the bill either but he's closer to a Sharp than Oshie is IMO. |

Wow, that's a lot to give up, mainly because I have a high opinion of Compher and also Pysyk. If I'm including both of them AND the 1st round pick, I want more than ROR.
To the mention of Oshie, I believe he is VERY overrated. I agree with DD. |

I would absolutely agree he's over rated, which is why I think he's going to be moved once Tarasenko and Allen get big deals, and they shop for someone to replace Jackman.
He has speed though, and plays a two way strong posession game.

Personally I dont see it as giving up a lot to fit our needs within the rebuild. ROR is the type of player you hope Compher becomes. We'd be expediting our rebuild by a couple years to acquire the polished NHL player in ROR now. Who by the way is only 23 years old and has won a Lady Byng and came 6th in Selke voting as a 22 year old.
Pysyk is seemingly looking at bottom pairing NHL defenseman on our team with the emergence of Risto and Zads who have jumped him on the depth chart. McCabe is giving you everything Pysyk has in his first professional season. Pysyk is no longer exempt from waivers next year, whereas McCabe has 2 to 3 more years left... hate to say it but Pysyk has become expendable.
The 1st rounder will be a mid-late first. I expect them to be bounced in the 1st round, yet again. But by acquiring ROR, you already have the player you want.
The only tricky part is that ROR has 1 year left on his deal. The sooner you can get him locked up for 8 years, the better.
This is the type of move that Murray needs to make if he wants to get out of the rebuild. We cant stay in the Edmontonian perpetual hope of "this prospect is too good to trade"... |

I have no doubts that one of our better prospects will be moved within a year or so.
It just has to happen, there won't be room for all of them.
Eric Cornel looked good last night, he could be one of them
