It will be interesting if TM does move some of what we thought are prime assets for a prime NHL player. Seems like waiting on Xmas knowing something good will be there.

Hope we don't end up with a bag of pucks.

All these" prime assets" we have should get us ROR or something similar. It all depends on if Murray wants to move them, IMO Larsson is worthless.
We either need to play these prime assets no matter what or move them to better the team, the time has come to make the moves now the rebuild is on.

Seems we have enough evaluators from what they said . Hope they get it right. Maybe they could ask some of us for our opinions on some players .

Everyone says we so much talent in the AHL and how great these players will be, well play them now and move the vets or trade them and make the team better. Not saying they will be a playoff team but adding proven young NHL players that are playing now instead of waiting another 3 years. It's all in what Murray decides to do.

This is a good situation to be in, we have the money also the players and picks to make the correct choices. Should get interesting as the year goes on.

Only way Murray should even consider trading ROR as if a long term extension is signed before the trade . He is going to become and UFA and his negotiating has nothing to do with Loyalty to anyone but himself and he has shown that . So you cannot give up a pile of assets unless he is locked up for you .He is on pace for 15 goal season and is already a -12 He is sucking the tailpipe this year as are most of his team mates.

Agreed. I'm staying back on the piss and moan about the team ,because of the actual overall situation . Up to TM who seems a better judge than us here on the buzz. Seems he is patient and not one to want to make the wrong decision. Things are looking good in the F'n center.

Since Darcy is gone I have no reason to complain, most here still think I complain but i'm not. I have no problem how this team is and was playing, this is what people wanted a rebuild or a tank and now that it's happening they don't like it. I've said from the start they won't tank, and they aren't they are playing like a team, not a playoff team but a team and that's a hell of a lot better then we have seen in the last few years.

Is ROR even on the block? we don't even know if Murray has a liking for him, I haven't heard anything about ROR and the Sabres but that doesn't mean they don't have any interest.

My only real problem with the team is the personnel they've still got in upper management outside the "well known" areas (like GM, ass. gm).

Fun fact, you know how the Oilers have been piss poor with their drafting beyond the 1st overall picks?

We hired the guy responsible for almost all of that. He also single handedly nearly dragged hockey canada into the abyss.

My hope is that Murray just doesn't value his opinion because his track record suggests you should do the opposite of whatever he suggests.

I wasn't a fan of the Murray hire, I would have chosen Benning.

I wanted someone different as well, but i appreciate Murray's track record and I believe he can do a good job as well.

I do worry about the scouting department though.

We still have Devine . He has been the mastermind behind the picks the past few years. Glad he is still here. Not too many players beyond our picks I would have rather had. Still too soon to judge.

Yea it just makes me nervous given Prendergrast's track record. But he's not the guy in charge anymore, just a regular scout now.
