....So tank this year? I think YOU'RE missing the point.
Tanking takes its toll mentally. This team is so fragile, you think another young talented forward prospect is going to magically make everyone flick the switch? They need change and the sooner the better. Another last place finish would do a lot of harm to this squad. - hankthetank

Hmmmm... not sure I agree, but just reading IslandersPointBlank, and Cappy's quote — looks like Boychuck and Hamonic are out for a while...
So to update — no way the Isles made a deal with anyone unless its for another defender... then again, Reinhart played well... and Pullock looks like he is ready and could join the team this week. - FilamentDesigns
I agree about the trade part but Pulock is a beast!! They actually called up Pulock for tomorrow's game and most likely will play |

Prove me wrong. Show me anywhere where they claimed they expected to get a 1st line center for Perron.... i'll wait. - eerie13
mactavish said they want a TOP line center for perron.
do you know what TOP mean? when someone asks you for the item on the TOP shelf, do you grab the item on the 2nd shelf? NO. when mactavish asks for a TOP line center, he wants a 1st line center, not a 2nd line center.
i can't believe i just had to explain what a top line center is... |

I'm an Isles fan and I think the Oilers need to get more, but who? - jwbadlands
I was thinking it would be Bailey, and would justify his scratching last night. I was wondering why conacher would be in for him. Now this may be the reason. |

This past year everyone for the most part has come to agree that pulock is looking like the better player |

I understand how NHL fans over value their players but Oiler fans are laughable. It's a shame because all of Canada cheered for the Oilers teams but now everyone hates them. They are pathetic of all pathetics.
Perron for an elite 1st line center? Lol
I would say Pouliot is worth more than baby Jesus floating in the river. In their minds.
Laughing stock of professional sports. In the laughing stock city of Canada. Move to Quebec. Problem
Solved - QuickSCF
I agree we are a pretty pathetic hockey team right now. The proof is in the pudding. Maybe were paying the price for Gretzky's "Micky mouse" statements about New Jersey back in the 80's. However, I don't think any of us see Pouliot or Perron as being an elite center or RW/LW for that matter, but you don't give away a good player for nothing. (they are both good players) We actually need more guys like the both of them. I say keep them both. Move Shultz or yak if the right deal pops up, otherwise you have no choice, but to wait. As to the laughing stock city of Canada, that's just the talk a someone who is immature and forgets the days the Kings sucked royally!!! The Oilers will stay in Edmonton and the fans will push through, as will the team. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Sad day's to be an Oiler fan, but I will always be proud of my city EDMONTON! |

They already supposedly have that. 3 straight first over all picks... That's why I don't think even Mcdavid could help them. They need to know what it feels like to win a few games. They need to trade Hall for Burrows+ ASAP if they are serious about having character guys who who what it takes to win. |

Gee — another "rumor" of the Isles most prized defensive prospect going to the Oilers... I think I have heard this before.
Honestly — how many of these rumors are started by fans with a woody for a certain player.
Well documented that Reinhart was told by Snow that despite any rumors out of Edmonton specifically, he (nor Pullock) would be traded. I grant you — that was at the draft.
Nonetheless — Reinhart is the Islanders best prospect. Hardly a good plan to trade him.
Second — and perhaps more important right now — the Islanders are the 2nd best team in the league, first place in the Metro. There is no need to mess with that.
Third — The Islanders are missing 3 key defenders right now — which is why Reinhart was called up on an emergency basis.
I highly doubt anything is brewing... nice try though. Great job boosting website hits with baseless nonsense.... - FilamentDesigns
Where was it documented that Snow said he would not trade reinhart to edmonton? |

Something like a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Maybe another good character guy like Stanton. |

Oilers need to do something and Stanton is actually a great depth d-man. He's still young-ish too. Burrows is a 30 goal scorer who will give it 110% every night and knows what it takes to win at this level. Plus Oilers dump Hall's huge salary. Win/win trade but I doubt MacT has the balls to pull it off. |

FACT: Uncle Jesse's birth name was Hermes Katsopolis but he got teased about his name in school so when he was in Kindergarten he asked his parents if he could change his name to Jesse.

I'm not being a turd, you racist.
The Oilers need to do something before it's too late. Season after season of being a last place team will kill your psyche. Like I said, another high end prospect isn't going to magically fix the Oilers. |
