President's Trophy is way harder to win than a Cup. |

Yeah true enough and more sought after, I hear kids all the time in their driveways dreaming of one day hoisting the presidents trophy high over their heads and screaming we did it !!! |

Completely blown away by it? - Cptmjl
Absolutely flabbergasted.
Hall for Burrows and Stanton.
Because Burrows once scored 30 goals (5 years ago), gives 110% every game and know's how to win.
Also because Stanton is.... and I quote "Still kinda young-ish" |

I'm not being a turd, you racist.
The Oilers need to do something before it's too late. Season after season of being a last place team will kill your psyche. Like I said, another high end prospect isn't going to magically fix the Oilers. - hankthetank
Why am I a racist?
Burrows had 15 points last season. He hasn't scored 30 goals in 5/6 years and he only did it once. Taylor Hall had 80 points last season. Burrows can't even get the Canucks to win the Stanley Cup what is he going to do for the Oilers? |

I bet you would. Reinhart is a good prospect and I'd be happy to have him, however the Oilers need legit NHL players now. We need a top pairing defender and an upgrade in net, and another center would be awesome. |

Wow, you won 16 games in a 16 team tournament where you only played 3 other teams? That must have been hard.
President's Trophy requires a grueling 82 game schedule where you play every team over months while traveling across North America. It's way more difficult. The Stanley Cup tournament is fun but it's not as hard to win. |

I just don't see there being a deal between the isles and oilers, especially not right now with our injuries. In a month or two maybe but edmonton would have To retain cap on eberle, lot of players need deals in the upcoming years and I'm not sure eberle is worth 6mil a year. But I doubt edmonton will do that |

Nope. We are not good partners, you guys finally have defense and I don't see you trading them away. |

No team trades them unless of aging or salary cap issues. Its a premium that most team may not choose to trade for. That's why most team develop there own top dmen....... |

If signed it would be Dehaan, Hamonic, Leddy, Boychuk, Pulock, Hickey & Reinart. Hickey has been so good and that's why if they resign Boychuk I could see them trading Reinhart |

Where was it documented that Snow said he would not trade reinhart to edmonton? - Cptmjl
here are two places — this is from May and while things may have changed — Lubo is banged up, Hamonic and Boychuck are on LTIR and the Isles called both Pullock and reinhart up to fill in... so any trades involving either unlikely.

Look at the 7th paragraph from the top of the Newsday article. "Snow called Reinhart to assure him he was not being traded..."

Not a lot of trades for them but they do happen. We have Nurse in the pipes and the hope is he develops into that but I don't know if the Oilers can wait for him. |

all due respect, but that was June. Things change. I doubt very much the Isles move Reinhart or Pulock, but that one liner is hardly a reason. |

Maybe the Detroit route is the way to go. One of Reinhart and Pulock spends the season in the AHL and dominates down there for a season. |

Yeah I could see that happening but at the same time they can use a scorer to play with JT. Del Colle IMO is still at least 2-3 years away |

I like this idea, I know Edmonton fans are sick and tired of the kids not getting the job done, but there's not one Defenseman in the league including Doughty and Webber that can help these guys right now....but 5 years from now imagine a d - core with Nurse, Klefbom, Shultz and Reinhart...not to mention you still have Hall, RNH, Yak, Draisaitl and what looks like what very well could be McDavid. Stay the course...LA, Chicago, Pittsburg, NYI all spent their time at the bottom...maybe not as longas Edmonton, but to blow up the team now would mean it was all for nothing.

Unless a team has a cap issue, I can’t see anyone moving a legit top pairing defenseman unless they’re a ufa and they can’t afford to sign him. Even in that case, 99% of teams in a playoff position are going to keep the player and try to move his rights at the draft.
The ufa crop gets weaker every year as teams do their best to lock up critical pieces long term, and if the cap doesn’t go up next year there’s going to be a lot more teams in a cap crunch. Is yak going to get the standard 6mil per as an rfa? It’s not like the Oilers have a ton of cap space either.
You can probably get a goaltender in the off season but you’re gonna need a legit starter. Hiller would have been a fantastic option for you guys.
