If signed it would be Dehaan, Hamonic, Leddy, Boychuk, Pulock, Hickey & Reinart. Hickey has been so good and that's why if they resign Boychuk I could see them trading Reinhart - Vukota
Yeah I think they trade who ever gets the most in return |

Yeah I could see that happening but at the same time they can use a scorer to play with JT. Del Colle IMO is still at least 2-3 years away - Vukota
You guys have enough prospects you could work something out, Strome and Ho-Sang could be dangled. |

Maybe the Detroit route is the way to go. One of Reinhart and Pulock spends the season in the AHL and dominates down there for a season. - Dangles13
That's the plan for both of them. But injuries changed that. |

Unless a team has a cap issue, I can’t see anyone moving a legit top pairing defenseman unless they’re a ufa and they can’t afford to sign him. Even in that case, 99% of teams in a playoff position are going to keep the player and try to move his rights at the draft.
The ufa crop gets weaker every year as teams do their best to lock up critical pieces long term, and if the cap doesn’t go up next year there’s going to be a lot more teams in a cap crunch. Is yak going to get the standard 6mil per as an rfa? It’s not like the Oilers have a ton of cap space either.
You can probably get a goaltender in the off season but you’re gonna need a legit starter. Hiller would have been a fantastic option for you guys. - Isles_since_6
I wanted Hiller but we got stuck with who we have. It is incredibly unlikely that we trade for a stud defender but I like to hope. |

I like this idea, I know Edmonton fans are sick and tired of the kids not getting the job done, but there's not one Defenseman in the league including Doughty and Webber that can help these guys right now....but 5 years from now imagine a d - core with Nurse, Klefbom, Shultz and Reinhart...not to mention you still have Hall, RNH, Yak, Draisaitl and what looks like what very well could be McDavid. Stay the course...LA, Chicago, Pittsburg, NYI all spent their time at the bottom...maybe not as longas Edmonton, but to blow up the team now would mean it was all for nothing. - sudburyboy
Isles were down there for a while top ten picks pretty much every year from 06 to last season minus one season. Rebuilds take time wait a little longer |

Strome isn't going anywhere. Ho sang could definitely be moved in a package deal |

here are two places — this is from May and while things may have changed — Lubo is banged up, Hamonic and Boychuck are on LTIR and the Isles called both Pullock and reinhart up to fill in... so any trades involving either unlikely.

Look at the 7th paragraph from the top of the Newsday article. "Snow called Reinhart to assure him he was not being traded..." - FilamentDesigns
That was at the draft this is now. Not saying its going to happen now with our defense banged up now but I think it may have happened if it wasnt. Theres been too much smoke coming from this for a while now. |

True I could see Reinhart down there based on how well pulock has been. Reinhart won't like it he thinks he should be in the nhl |

The Islanders with Eberle would just be ridiculous. They are already deep as can be, with Michael Dal Colle not far off.
Eberle-Tavares-Okposo
Lee-Nelson-Strome
Kulemin-Nielsen-Grabovski
Grabner-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
Bailey-Martin
They already have arguably the deepest forward corps in the East; this would certainly be the deepest/best forward group of any team in the conference. - isles10289
Bailey will have to be included simply because of cap space issues. What is Eberle making... 6 mill cap hit? For 4 more years? The Isles won't eat all of it. They will move Bailey to get the Oilers to take his 3 million off their hands...then the trade makes economic sense for the Isles. They have to sign Boychuk to an extension and they have Okposo and Frans coming up as well as Leddy needing a new contract in the summer. If the Oilers didn't take Bailey and did an Eberle for Reinhart straight up, then the Isles added 5.2 mill to their cap. The Oilers would then have to agree to take some of the cap hit.
That said, I don't see the Isles making the deal. Not until Boychuk is signed. Viz would likely need to be extended and Pulock would step into Boychuk's spot next season if Boy doens't resign. |

Id rather they both spend the entire season down there even though they both seem pretty ready but we are getting beat up on our blue line. Someone has to fill those spots. |

You aren't getting Strome. Strome won't be moved unless we are getting a Hart winner back. He's that loved by this organization.
Plus, if the Isles make a move, it will be to fill a hole at 1st line wing. Trading Strome might bring that wing, but you just opened a hole at 2nd line center. |

I don't see them both on the Bridge all year. The simple reason...Viz. He's injury prone and old. He isn't going to re-sign here. Due to that, I can see the Isles moving him at the deadline to fill another hole and bringing up either Reinhart or Pulock to fill in for the remainder of the season. |

Too many forwards actually. But it'd be nice to have someone better on the JT' line, not doing well at even strength. Gonna have to scratch Bailey or Grabner because we have too many forawards. Need to move one of em out. |

Now we dont really. Id like to have an awesome winger for tavares but its not a neccesity imo and Strome wouldnt be in a package for another fwd and if he was there would be alot of unhappy people. Not happening kid is looking incredible. Im pretty confident theres someone on our team thats going to fit in on that line its just why would you mess with anything with the team winning? |

"I bet you would. Reinhart is a good prospect and I'd be happy to have him, however the Oilers need legit NHL players now. We need a top pairing defender and an upgrade in net, and another center would be awesome." -Dangles13
Then call Santa because you are looking for gifts.
You need those things NOW...? Well, you aren't going to get them until you get a competent front office and that starts with firing Kevin Lowe, your GM and your coach. Clean house up there. You got bats in that attic.
The Oilers have been in the lottery longer than the Isles have been and what do they have to show for it?
~A 2nd line center that needs to be back in the WHA and Yak has no one to play with
~No NHL dmen...legit ones this season anyway
~No NHL goalies.
Its great to want all these things, but it seems the Oilers have stocked up on young flashy skilled forwards and have no grit players (Matt Martin, Cal Clutterbuck).
Your D sucks.
Your G sucks.
And your grit sucks.
I don't say it to be mean or hateful. I put this all on your front office. Trading Eberle won't fill 2 of those holes. You'll fill one, but not 2. Certainly not from trading with the Isles. We are in no need to give away multiple good parts to get Eberle. We can wait and look elsewhere. |
