most of those were done when hockey was a MUCH different game, when there would be several players scoring 90+ points.

the only relevant ones would be the last two, and we all know ovechkin will never have a linemate that can score 40 anymore, and the malkin/neal year was when geno had an insane 100+ point season and neal literally just made it to 40G. that's a great example, because tavares would have to have a season even better than malkin's to get kane to 40 goals. NOT HAPPENING.

I'm not saying it's likely and I definitely think that Kane-JT-Okposo would not do it but it can happen if the right players are put together.

lol typical islander fan, with such unrealistic expectations. do you know how rare it is to have multiple 40+ goal scorers on the same line? even crosby couldn't get kunitz to 40, it's just not realistic since goals are only accredited to one person. you think JT + kane + okposo will get 110-115 goals combined? LOL thanks for the laugh

one islanders fan saying this makes it a typical islanders fan? Typical troll response from you would be more appropriate.

You sure about Stamkos/st louis in 06??? Stamkos was drafted in 08...and I don't think the two had a year where they both scored 40

Rofl, no sir. But I don't see Kane as elite and I don't think he's got a team first attitude. I think he's a 25 goal 50 point winger who gets hurt fairly often and I'm not interested.

Winnipeg would be asking for more than he's worth. I'd take Eberle over Kane and I'm not sure I'd deal Reinhart for Eberle.

- Isles_since_6

I'm sure I'd never trade that defenseman as part of a package for a forward unless they sign Boychuk, and unless that forward is truly elite. It's just not worth moving defensemen for most forwards.

If Boychuk doesn't sign, I wouldn't even think about moving Reinhart. If he does, it would still take a lot to even consider it.

U are aware that Kane has already scored 30 and was on pace for another 30 goal season in the 48 game season...and that was not playing with Tavares.

Tavares has scored 30 and that is playing with one wing.

Okposo scored 28 last year. Add Kane, and you don't think he can add another 10?

BTW- Kunitz isn't as good as KO or Kane. Great example.

This is where your trolling shows.

Malkin and whom else on the line? You don't think if Malkin/Neal and a legit winger were together it would have been easier to get to 40?

Unlike Malkin, Tavares wouldn't be doing it alone. He's got KO on his wing who is already better than the missing wing with Neal.

And in case you have reading issues, I was saying what their high end production would be if they were a line. U really aren't that bright

Good because you are kinda being nuts. While I love Kane and would love to see a move to get him, you seem to forget that KO was progressing well and should have been on the last two Olympic teams. He was clearly a better choice than Callahan in '08 but USA choose Cally so he and Drury could PK together like they did for the Rags. But at that point Okposo was better. Then he lost more than an entire season to the shoulder injury. Both he and Streit had the same injury. Neither player was fully recovered for a season and half.

If you think KO's play has not been what it was last season, then you are watching Rangers or Devils games, not Islanders games. For the past 2 full seasons, KO has found what its been to be a pro and has been excellent.

I think the criticism of Kane is overblown. He doesn't fit the "modest, say nothing, don't draw attention to yourself" stereotype that Canadians want their players to show.

I think if you drop Kane on that line with KO and JT- JT and Kane net 40, KO will net 30-35 and probably have more assists than both JT and Kane. It would be the best line in the east and probably the best line in the nhl.

JMHO

Just another bitter fan who is miserable over his own teams failures that he has to try and bring down others. It's common on this site unfortunately.

I know I'm coming late to the party, but it appears that Eks "source" is another thread on his site. Tell me exactly how you trade a d man when 3 of your top 6 are on IR, when you are very deep at forward already, I could see him trying to get a number 5 dman for very little just for insurance if Hammer and Boychuck are gone for more then a month. Ek and his sources, gets hits but rarely if ever actually happen.

Come on oilers lets all get together and rejoice.. TANK TANK TANK.. 5 years of lottery picks and 3 first overalls isn't enough.. Our pathetic franchise can't even draft good with 5 lottery picks.

I hope to (frank) that McDavid pulls a Lindros. And you know what? Nobody would blame him. Why let a star elite talent rot in Hellmonton?

Ryan nugent Hopkins lol 60 pounds soaking wet. A good hurricane blows him to japan. Could of drafted elite captain tough as nails Landeskog. Mistake.

Taylor injury prone whiner crybaby Hall. Could of drafted top goal scorer elite NHL top 3 center man in the game Seguin.

Nail Yakupov. Biggest joke of all. Another small forward with the Russian factor. Showboat.. That goal where he skated up the ice like a peewee player and went on his knees and cried.. Get the (frank) out of a man league you wimp.

(frank) man I use to like the Oilers but what a pathetic franchise.

Move to Quebec= problem solved
