What - FransIsMyBaby
If you give him enough minutes to play as an offensive center, he will produce. He won't get that oportunity now with the Islanders deep at center. |

Our isles blogger was right with the Vanek, Leddy and Boychuk rumors/trade. So I would trust him
He isnt saying thats the final package but thats the center
and also isnt saying this is a done deal, just heating up talks. |

Griffin Reinhart does not help the Oilers right now and that is what they are looking for. So Reinhart could be part of the deal but not the centrepiece. - Champ
let's be real here, the Oilers aren't going anywhere this year, that's way too much ground to make up. Reinhart is probably about a year away from being an NHL regular, but wants to be in the NHL now. We could spare a roster forward (bailey, conacher) but I don't see much more leaving the Isles if this was to go through. I'm not even sure I'd want to trade Reinhart for Eberle.

he's right, Dan isn't the type of blogger to spout off, he's very conservative when it comes to rumours. |

There lies the problem. He has what it takes to acquire the right kind of help to bring balance to the team but does not have the balls to make the move. It does not make sense that Calgary if better than Edmonton. - Champ
MacT is not calling the shots, however based on that comical presser he seems to think he is.

We don't need another D prospect is the problem though. Trade does not make sense. We need a current top pairing dman which NYI would not deal anyways, a starting goalie and a #2 C. |

you're not getting a top pairing dman for eberle. Not one under contract anyway. No one is moving those assets for anything right now.

The deal would have to lean very heavy in the Oilers direction, not involve core players or picks.

Bailey did well last season when JT was injured. He is suited as a top line center, very similar to Brassard. - Fan101

If Isles upgrade again; wow...off season + big trade could make this team into more than a bubble team.
dare i say it? HOME ICE?~ - Lucas Neilson
We are 1 point out of first in the conference and first in theleague with a game in hand. Think that "bubble team" description went out the window a while ago? |

I don't believe anything will either, Oilers season is already over, no point making a move to try and save it.

What we do know is the season for the Oilers is pretty well toast. So why bother making a trade? It wouldn't be a core player or pick, so you are left with getting rid of an expiring contract or bottom end talent. You can see why there's no deals happening.

Yep! Reinhart is probably going to be the biggest piece the Isles are willign to move. Reinhart is not there yet, but he could be a top dman. |
