Not having 1.5 soft goals a game certainly helps..especially since we have won 8 in OT and SO and another 5 by 1 goal. - niteislander
True. You still saw Halak struggling when the Isles were not playing good D though. I blame the lousy D and system last year more than the goalies. Would be interesting to see how Poulin would play with this years team. Johnson better pick it up or it's Poulin time. |

I think the hype has been effectilvely shattered with the new saga of 1999, 2002 and 2005... So this might be surprisingly good... since our hopes are not that high... - Xizord
I'm still trying to figure out what the hell people were expecting of I, II, and III.. That led them to be disapointed.

Not Jar Jar that is for sure. Star Wars needs to be like Empire Strikes back. No Jar Jar and no Ewoks. |

I am guessing Bailey too... I am ok with that by the way. - niteislander
Too many forwards if they don't move one. So makes sense plus Bailey is paid to be a center which is an EDM need. It is a rumor though.
Likewise if Boychuk is playing "Vanek Wait and See Game" well.........................
Tough to make a big trade though when your team is winning. |

Lol again you shouldn't speak of things you have no clue about. - Iggysbff
This seems like a great long-term move for the Oilers; getting an nhl ready d-prospect now.
Next year there will be more than one team looking to shed salary if the likely scenario of the cap not rising occurs.
Oilers can trade from their wealth of d-prospects or picks (as a opposed to a high-cap hit player) for a veteran d-man next year, possibly at a discounted price. |

seems like a good trade for both teams.
Oilers have been built completely top heavy, it's about time they get some D. Reinhart and Nurse will make them a pretty hard team to play against for years to come. If they can get Bailey that's just a bonus.
Eberle is pretty one dimensional, but it's a pretty good one dimension he has. Kids got great hands. |

I love how Isles fans are already cocky about a team that has been a disgrace for years; CHILL. Snow w and/or the Hockey Gods will soon find a way to screw up your season. We're all waiting. - jackoc150
We still talking about the Isles or have we moved on to your own team?

U nailed it, been saying that team don't trade away top 2 dmen or even top 4 unless of aging, so teams today have to develop top dmen themselves... |
