Too many forwards if they don't move one. So makes sense plus Bailey is paid to be a center which is an EDM need. It is a rumor though.

I promise you that Snow and crew do NOT like seeing this top line that has been one of the best in league the past few years with Moulson and then Vanek on JT's wing.. now asleep. They have too many forwards and as we saw in the Leddy trade They have too many D-prospects to NOT be ok moving one for the betterment of the current team. This trade just makes sense for the Isles which for EK is very unusual.

This seems like a great long-term move for the Oilers; getting an nhl ready d-prospect now.

Next year there will be more than one team looking to shed salary if the likely scenario of the cap not rising occurs.

Oilers can trade from their wealth of d-prospects or picks (as a opposed to a high-cap hit player) for a veteran d-man next year, possibly at a discounted price.

It's been slow going for Okposo. He's been inconsistent. I don't mind him with Nielsen who he has some obvious chemistry with. Some Isles fans would disagree with me but I don't mind him on another line.

He has done that all along.. just a. no one wanted to sign and B. no one could see the plan. Snow NOT trading any of the prospects when all the injuries happened the last 4 years is the reason this team is doing well right now. All those guys are playing... Strome, Brock Nelson, Lee, Casey C. etc. He also refused to pay a guy more than he thought he was worth.. even if that meant losing him (Blake, Streit, Amac, etc. etc.) which is why they also have a decent amount of cap room.
