He has done that all along.. just a. no one wanted to sign and B. no one could see the plan. Snow NOT trading any of the prospects when all the injuries happened the last 4 years is the reason this team is doing well right now. All those guys are playing... Strome, Brock Nelson, Lee, Casey C. etc. He also refused to pay a guy more than he thought he was worth.. even if that meant losing him (Blake, Streit, Amac, etc. etc.) which is why they also have a decent amount of cap room.

How many "bold moves" like he promised when he got the job?

Was one of them trading away a competent 2nd line C to depend on an 18 year old? Because now he says the asking prices for attaining the 2nd line C the team so badly needs is too high.

He has not been perfect by any means. Gags trade was premature. Nikitin signing aweful.

Made some good moves as well though.

This deal or any other deal will only happen if Nicholson wants it to. As McT just said, Nicholson was brought in to evaluate everyone. Sweeping changes in the new year ?

heee

Outside of Purcell none of his moves seems to have made an impact, anyone can go sign and overpay for a FA and not lose any assets , McT promised change but as a fan I'm seeing more of the same.

Perron for MPS and a pick? Smid for whatever? Great moves.

Can't argue with that. Dumping that goalie coach was very astute.

At this point, they would be stupid to do anything significant to improve the team. There isn't a move out there that will be better than drafting McDavid, Eichel, or Hanafin. I think they know this, and that Seinfeldesque press conference seemingly about nothing was actually them announcing that they would do nothing until the offseason.

And then we have Eklund throwing Eberle trade rumours around

Traded Smid and replaced him with Ference.

Annd last I checked you guys are attempting to flip Perron for a second line center you traded at the start of the season.

They saw how well it works to throw 18 year olds into the NHL every year, so they said 'why stop with Draisatl!?'

If by edmonton you mean Islander. How is this stupid for edmonton Reinhart is one of the top D prospects not playing right now and hes a monster size player. 100% what edmonton needs.

The Edmonton Oilers are already in preparation to tank next year so they can guarantee themselves Auston Matthews

The kid most scouts feel is better than Eichel

Not that I'm clairvoyant but I think everyone knew Draisalt should of gone back to juniors. That dressing room right now is toxic , the skill is there but right now he needs to learn in a positive environment .

I think it was 29:50 about nothing and :10 of something. He made a comment that Nicholson was brought in by Katz and is evaluating everyone. Read into that what you will but I have to believe the Legacy era is going to end soon. Removing KLowe is an absolute first move that needs to happen, he created the culture of acceptable losing that they can't seem to shake now.

Tanking is the worst move. The Oilers are damaged. Another season of being a cellar dweller is the last thing this team needs. They need to learn how to win. Another talented forward prospect isn't going to help this team. They need to do something more. I suggested Trading Eberle or Hall for Burrows+. The Oilers needs some heart and someone who knows what it takes to win. At this point all their players have very low value.
