I say Carolina, Ottawa, or Winnipeg. If Frolik can get traded to the Peg then so can Morin.
- DarthKane

If Stan made a deal with Carolina it would be the first time he made a deal with Francis.I do remember you mentioning the Morin and Skinner connection earlier though, looked it up and they played together 1 season for Kitchener and had similar point totals.Did they play together a lot?

Skinner has had so many concussions he likely doesn't even remember Morin.

Landeskog also played with those guys.

Line rushes at practice has Nordstrom as the odd man out. Carcillo with Kruger and Smith.

Sharp on the right side with Shaw and Bickell.

- Elbows15

Should be interesting going forward. Really going to miss Nordstrom I think. I wouldn't pull him, probably would put Sharp on 3rd line for a while, move him back to first after a while and move Saad down to 3rd.

I'd swap out Bickell and Carcillo and keep the 4th line in tact.

@FriedgeHNIC: Governors told if Canadian dollar stays at 88, cap will be around $73M

Should we automatically assume that it will be $2 million dollars less than that come the end of June?

Bettman has to be careful here. If the cap drops too much, all the cap strapped teams will need to trade their high priced players to Arizona and Florida. And those 2 teams don't have enough gate revenue now to cover one player at $5M/year let alone a whole team.

So Hawks payroll at $65.7 mil for next season across 15 players

Dump Sharps $5.9 and looking at 13.2 mil to sign or bring up 9 players

Definitely much more doable if we can dump Bickell too. Then its not half bad. Bring in another richards type vet signing would help out a lot. Also, Oduya giving us a sweetheart deal will lessen the blow

Hopefully Saad doesnt play hardball with us like Leddy and his doosh agent did too on his bridge deal

Could be?

Depends on how much Saad ends up with. In addition to that, if Oduya stays, that will eat up a chunk of money too. If Teravainen isn't ready, I guess Bowman may have to add another #2C to the shopping list too.

That could eat up a good chunk of that $13 million real quick.

Who is his source? And if believable, what is the cap change for every penny drop in the Loonie?

The source behind the tweet was Gary Bettman.

Stan has to be careful here, especially with Saad. I think he signed Bollig before the cap number was known, and he had to promptly turn around and trade him. He might have made the same mistake with Crawford as well.

Obviously, I miss-read that post. I thought he was asking about who the twitter account was. Thanks for the correct.

6 mil is the going rate for a decent starter.

The difference is that Crawford's money is just a wee bit more justified with what winning a cup and all.

Not saying he isn't worth the going rate, only if the cap number had been known, maybe they could have gotten a it done for couple hundred K less. They are so tight to the cap every little bit helps.

Before LA got cap relief on the Voynov situation they had to suit up 19 players for a game or two because they were a few grand short of being able to call someone up. That's all I meant by that.

I'll guess Morin to Buffalo for a draft pick.

if Buffalo, it would for Stewart.

Problem is if Stewart were coming in that deal, Bowman has to move someone to make the cap hit work. Who else goes in that deal?

Doubt Bowman has much interest in Stewart, especially if it means moving somebody off the roster. He's basically an underachieving dog who plays hard when he feels like it and that isn't very often. Bad type of guy to bring into good dressing room.

That, and Stewart sucks. He's Bryan Bickell all over again, but without the playoff creds.
