That, and Stewart sucks. He's Bryan Bickell all over again, but without the playoff creds.

I'd have to believe that Stewart is even worse than Bickell - even without the playoff creds.

Before I start annointing Darling as a #1 NHL goaltender and Crow's replacement I want to see how he performs after facing Western Conference teams more than once.

These goalies are like major league pitchers, they may be fine thru the batting order once or twice but when the big bats come up a third time it usually requires having the bullpen on high alert. Crow is a proven NHL'er, Darling and Raanta are not, at least yet.

Maybe, probably. But he sure fills up the net and doesn't seem to be nervous at all. You never know with a kid like that playing behind the Hawks defence.

But the most games he has ever played as a pro is 35, that's not a lot of minutes to make any long term decision on.

Should be interesting going forward. Really going to miss Nordstrom I think. I wouldn't pull him, probably would put Sharp on 3rd line for a while, move him back to first after a while and move Saad down to 3rd.

I'd swap out Bickell and Carcillo and keep the 4th line in tact.

Problem is if Stewart were coming in that deal, Bowman has to move someone to make the cap hit work. Who else goes in that deal?

Not really because by the deadline the money is minimal in terms of ture hit...how much season is left?
Stanbo is using every trick to save pennie now.

They haven't stood pat at any deadline have they?

I wasn't thinking in terms of anything but a loan, no one will want Stewart at his present cost...

Stewart is a tough mean hombre when he wants to win something...and is not so bad in close and as a distrupter down low.

>Best 5 man cycle in hockey that all lines and D-pairings can play together -- check
>One of the best top 4 D in hockey -- check
>Best PK in the NHL -- check
>Best goaltending and goaler depth the Hawks have had in quite some time, if ever -- check
>Puck management, passing, player movement over 200 feet has been very good during this stretch
>Q on Dahlbeck: "I liked him, liked him a lot." -- I thought he was very good last night
>If Dahlbeck continues to play well, TVR (if he's back this year) will be spelling Rozy when he needs a rest -- not Dahlbeck -- thinking 3rd pair of the future is TVR/Dahlbeck
>Health and Hawk centers' ability to defend against big, physical centers in the playoffs will have an impact on whether the Hawks are the best in mid-June
