Oshie is so damn overrated. I want no part of a guy who scores 20 goals per season and can't bring anything but a soft game. He isn't a net front, Hornqvist guy, he is SOFT.
Kane with require a current NHL player, a top prospect, a 1st round pick, and quite possibly some other pick player. He is a true elite talent that is still very young and finding his game. I wouldn't trade him for anything less if I'm winnipeg.
Tlusty is option #1 for me. Very capable top 6 player with an easy to absorb cap hit. He would require a fraction of what it would cost to get a guy like Kane.
Also, look for Jeremy Morin of Chicago to get moved. He would have to be placed on waivers to be sent down and Sharp is returning in the near future. Chicago might have to either play him, trade him, or risk the waiver wire. His game is a young Kunitz. - usethe1-2-2
It's also more plausible, because Carolina isn't in win-now mode. St. Louis isn't, and that means that prospects in return for established players aren't that enticing. |

I actually think Kane gets overrated here. Yes, he would be a great fit. But I can assure he doesnt play every game like the last WPG game vs. the Pens. No way would I give up 3-4 prime assets to get him.
I would be okay with bringing in Tlusty and Morin at low costs. |

Oh no doubt. St.Louis wont be making a trade until last minute the anyway. Oshie certainly won't be there.
Why are people not thinking Dallas right now? They would kill for a top 4 D |

Can you tell me what team in their right mind would trade for either of these 2 as part of any kind of tangible haul coming back to the Pens?
Best case for moving PMart - send him to another team and getting a rental FW back in return.
Best case for moving Scuds - none. We're stuck w/him. GMJR moves that contract, he's GM of the frickin year. - 87_71_11_29
Haha way to put words in someone's mouth
It was more like clearing the cap in Scuds case and making Martin A PART of a deal to get a top 6. Big difference here. You don't have to be a genious to figure that out. |

I'm working on a deal: C.Stewart for Scuderi+B prospect. Buffalo fans would accept it. Problem is Scuds accepting a trade to Buff He'd be in NY anyway. |

Oh no no no boo on E Kane. I would give up Maatta/pouliot and a 1st (and a kicker if needed) for him. 3 years after this at 5.25 mil, and with the way the lines are clicking (when healthy), it would be Kane with Crosby and Horny. I don't think there is a line in the NHL that can compete with that ever. - Guile
what possibly makes you think that. he has been ho-hum for two years now. |

If morin actually goes down to waivers and we don't act on it... not sure how the waiver order works though |

I think because they don't have many players that make sense...Ideally you have Ritchie (prospect) and Nichuskin (not-attainable). Otherwise, youre talking about Hemsky (having a really bad year), Roussel(not enough skill for top 6), Erik Cole (old as dirt). I just dont see a fit. |

So will Geno stay with the worst wingers always? Right now I'd buy this since Geno has been our best player this year in the GenoMachino mode and is clicking with Comeau. Kunitz already knows G well. - Barnaby36
Geno did have Neal in the past, which was considered a better winger than Dupuis.
I don't see anything wrong with him having Kunitz and then Comeau/Bennett/whoever the hell else we get. |
