The only reason to do that would be to dump Umbegrer's cap hit.
I'm not a huge fan of Stewart. He's been inconsistent through out his career, and while he brings physical play and some offense, it's not as if he's a kid who needs a change of scenery.

They would just let Stewart walk at the end of the season. Next year Leier can play on the 3rd and 4th lines like Umberger has been doing. |
