With 2265 career penalty minutes and no one else even close (Chara is second with 1613), Neil is an anachronism, albeit a fake one. Aside from the occasional amusement he provides when he takes dumb penalties I suspect that all the players and fans of the other 29 teams in the league will be happy when he finally retires. |

When Neil broke into the league, he pulled the same stunt with Gary Roberts, throwing sucker punches when it was over. Love watching him get his every now and then.. |

Best enforcer in the league. He knows how to get into players' heads and then fights just about anyone. |

Coming from a fan base that puts "ALFIE", and "CLASS" in the same sentence, I really don't think anyone is taking you too seriously. |

By harrassing them until they fight, then hitting them when they can't hit back then acting like a child after the fight.
If that is the best enforcer in the league the league needs to get rid of enforcers. |

Exactly. It doesn't take a real tough guy to do that bullpoop. |

If he could still skate and hit (as he used to be able to), then he'd still be among the best agitators... He never was one of the best enforcers - one of the best middleweights, sure, but talk is about 90% of what he's capable of these days, sadly.
The only better agitator I ever saw play for the Senators was Jarkko Ruutu... Damn, that guy could piss people off |

I'll be happy when he retires. He used to be a solid checking-liner on top of being a professional piece of poop, but those days are gone, sadly (from a Senators perspective).
Incidentally, saying that the players and fans of 29 other teams will be happy to see him gone isn't exactly the sickest burn |

Agreed. Well written. Unfortunately we have a lot of blind sens fans including multiple bloggers around the internet that choose to be overly bias or don't make the initiative to know the whole story. Instead we love "group think". It's sickening sometimes. |

As a Sens fan, and knowing many who have the same view as me, I think it's more like fans of all 30 teams in the league will be happy when he retires.
The guy is totally useless right now and that crap he does after fights enrages me.
He sucks all game, then fights someone of a lower weight class, then salutes the fans. Sickening.
Hey, Chris, how about you score a goal, or more realistically, don't spend every shift in your own end.. Then you can salute the fans. |
